Nintendo Switch 2 (WIP) - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

  • Happy Easter!
What's the difference between this and the OG Switch?

It basically looks the same.
That's probably why Nintendo cracked down on those emulators, the games are probably gonna run the same way but the switch 2 is just a hardware bump and it would be funnier if the cartridges are the same
Shit Mario Kart looks practically the same just with new models, I'm expecting shit to just work as soon as they release

Pros:
+Everyone already calls it the Switch 2, smart move to just call it that instead of something retarded like "Switch U"

Cons:
-No hall-effect joysticks on the shitty fucking joycons and will break down after 5 seconds of use
-That back stand looks like it will easily break off, maybe even easier than the Switch 1 kickstand
-No total 100% backwards compatibility could mean more than just peripheral/gimmick games like Labo or Ring Fit
-Will probably cost as much if not more than other handheld gaming devices that offer more value for less price

Predictions:
-Replacement joycons will likely cost at least twice the price of the Switch 1 joycons
-Will likely have its own pro controller that costs twice as much as the Switch 1 pro controller
-Will likely be drowning in technical errors and crashes just like the Switch 1 did at launch
-Games will likely cost $70 or more
-Will likely have a shitty launch lineup, even if Metroid Prime 4 gets finished it is designed for the Switch 1. There will be no killer app like BOTW* or New Horizons. 1, 2 Switch and Arms were overpriced tech demos at best
-Nintendo will sell chink-made adapters for Switch 1 accessories so they can work on the Nintendo Switch 2™, and they will be overpriced
-No themes and even if there are they will be wildly overpriced
-New exclusive Switch 2™ NSO subscription tiers, so you can pay an extra $9.99 a year to rent Nintendo's bootleg Dolphin emulator to play one new Gamecube ROM every 6 months (:optimistic:) or other pointless crap
-Switch 2™ exclusive eShop slop
-Less first-party titles and more second-to-third-to-indie slop and definitely less physical titles
-Console will be scalped and resold for thousands
-It will sell less than the Switch 1 overall, especially since there's no scamdemic economic void to fill this time, but it won't be as disastrous as the Wii U

Remember: if you pre-order anything, especially game consoles, you are too retarded to live :smug:

*BOTW was also on Wii U but given the catastrophic failure of that console and the fact that the newer and more appealing Switch console was on its way, most people who wanted BOTW probably got the Switch to play it

@LifeAlert
Are we sure they aren't using hall effect joycons? That was a recurring rumour and they put special focus on the sticks in the trailer.
Yeah, the recent leaks that match this design exactly all claim it will have Hall Effect joysticks. I wouldn't take it for granted that it has them, but it's a non-zero possibility right now.

Emulating Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 2K is amazing, with the only "problem" being the software-capped framerate. Now, if that really is a new Mario Kart being teased in the trailer, perhaps it'll also have an increased framerate cap. For the first time in my life I felt bad for pirating something due to how good emulated MK8 was. At 144Hz it would be the perfect bing bing wahoo experience.
