I have played and enjoyed Endless Ocean, was really the most excited one in this thread when it was announced - just skip it.

The game is fine, but heavily underbaked when compared to its Wii counterparts. It lacks the well crafted landscapes that keep fish contained in areas they would fit in as they went for a randomly generated world instead. The game also removed any and all story, which is a massive downgrade from Blue World. Progression is shit, it is now tied to just doing stuff in the randomly generated world rather than going from story chapter to chapter - they lock story progression behind a “find x amount of creatures” bar.

Everything about the game screams budget title. The presentation is terrible, gameplay features like the pulsar gun for sharks was removed, and there is literal AI voiceovers.

While it can be fun to explore the ocean, if you wanted anything more than the bare minimum of seeing fish, I would recommend staying away from it and just playing the Wii titles instead.
That's a bummer. It is such a cool series and unique.

I played Abzu a while ago when that came out and really enjoyed it, but wished it was more open-ended and had research goals and whatnot instead of just being some abstract story about downing too many mushrooms.

Another "spiritual successor"? Why can't we just get the ACTUAL successor to Hotel Dusk, Last Window, brought stateside? It's already been translated into English for 15 years now. Sad.
It's probably just licensing faggotry. That's usually what fucks up distribution of legitimately good and popular games in different markets.

Do games require specific updates to run better on Switch 2 or do most of them simply run better by default?
Anything with dynamic resolution or an “uncapped” frame rate will run at basically the maximum possible set value. Loading times are also improved across the board. This applies without a patch.

If the game has a fixed 30fps frame rate and a fixed resolution, it’s still going to look like it did on switch 1.

Patched games can do way better, Splatoon 3 runs at up to 4K 60fps on certain multiplayer maps.

Holy cope, this video is pure bootlicking
https://youtube.com/watch?v=coY4bl6aPgsAround the 14 min mark, this trans tard goes into a long dialogue about how people paying the high prices should not be coupable for Nintendo being shitty, basically declaring Nintendo a necessity by the end. lol, lmao even. The shit flinging this dude does to excuse Nintendo is some real mental gymnastics.

Also, love the random rant about bigotry towards poor people. I guess telling people not to buy a game console is bad.
LEAVE NINTENDO ALONE YOU FUCKING CHUD

Am I crazy for thinking this character design is pedo-bait? It reminds me of purah from botw. I honestly want nothing to do with the game because of this.

Nintendo designing a child character is like Disney designing a furry, even if they didn't mean it, the fanbase would obviously take it to a sexual place.

The barefoot is a pretty big red flag though

Oh FFS. Does nobody discussing this in the thread have stopped to consider for a second that the concept of being barefoot has a completely different meaning and context for the Japanese? This is a culture were stepping into a home or a temple requires to remove your footwear as a sign of respect before entering these places.

In their culture being barefoot is a sign of humbleness, simplicity and a connection to nature (which would fit with the themes shown in the DK game) It is also a sign of vulnerability and dispossession. One of the most well know pieces of Japanese media depicting the horrors of war is "Barefoot Gen" a story of a child that survived the Hiroshima nuclear bombing. A barefoot child is meant to evoke a desire to protect and carry that child to safety, to lift them off the ground and of their burden ( This discussion about Pauline is being twisted exactly the same as with Capcom's upcoming Pragmata, which also features a barefoot child that the player carries on his back.)

There is even the grim symbology of Japanese people that remove their shoes before committing suicide as a way to express the shedding of their earthly possessions before stepping into the afterlife. There is a lot of deep meaning in that imagery to that culture, none of it sexual.

Meanwhile Western Feetfags: "Ohhh, barefoot girls!! * slobber *

Nah dude that's cope. "Muh Japanese heritage" would have worked if she dressed like Princess Mononoke, not with modern urban cloths that conveniently don't include shoes.

Nintendo has announced an announcement for 'price changes' for the original Switch, its games, accessories and services in Canada. There's no indicator for whether prices will increase or decrease but given Nintendo's recent track record...

I wouldn't be surprised if an announcement like this is rolled out to the rest of the world. I'm not regretting my decision to get out.

Or maybe she's just barefoot because DK is barefoot to draw a design connection between them
No, it's to coom, that's a foregone conclusion apparently. Don't know when that became the consensus.

Now to see if it can reach the same lofty heights as the greatest DK game ever crafted: Tropical Freeze. In any case it can hardly be worse than DK64
Tropical Freeze is the worst of the DKC series and in the bottom half of DK games generally. DKC2 is still king.

Haha, Jesus, its actually gonna go up, isn't it?
That's gonna be insane...
