I watched Uncle Al steam dk bananza, and his reaction to k rool was just as bad, if not worse than the guy that cried over star wars, he had a full blown autistic freakout over it, it was embarrassing
You're telling me the guy who's most well known for still being a member of a fandom for a dubious quality french canadian cgi cartoon for kids from 1996 is autistic? I'm shocked, absolutely shocked. Well, not that shocked.

Nintendo just uploaded Mario Paint to Switch VC. It's on both the Switch 1 and Switch 2, but is only playable on Switch 2 due to the fact that you need the Mouse for it. It's not enough you paid for Switch VC, they're leveraging it for the benefit of new consoles. Expect VC versions of Wii U games to only work on the Switch 3, but still be uploaded to the Switch 2.

You know what they could have done on Switch VC which would have been low effort and would be easy goodwill? PAL ROMs of games they've already uploaded. Among retro collectors, PAL games tend to be the most valued and expensive due to working on the most different consoles (a game from Germany will work on a console from Australia) and the most available languages as well (many of them have at least EFIGS as a bare minimum). If they're "too slow" then Nintendo can just overclock them to make them nearly as fast as NTSC like what they did even as far back as the NES and SNES. Handheld PAL games won't even need this due to them not having speed differences. And right now, they have so few of them on offer, they aren't even available for PAL regions with the exception of GBC and GBA.

This means most people, even from Europe, are effectively gatekept by a language barrier from N64 games, which put a much greater emphasis on text and dialogue. This artificially increases the challenge in most games from Pilotwings 64 (can't read instructions if you don't understand English) to Banjo-Kazooie (Furnace Fun now has an artificial layer of extra difficulty where you have trouble knowing what the questions/answers even are). Not to mention the more-common-than-you'd-guess uploading of Japanese games with completely un-translated text, which Japan's RICHEST COMPANY is unable to do anything about (note that Sony gives you both American and European versions which you can switch between when you buy a PS1 game on PS5 and Sony doesn't have as much money as Nintendo).

Nintendo's long-held tradition of not caring about anyone other than North America and Japan stays the course. They need all the help they can get when it comes to other regions not already on board with them, as well as people pirating their old games and getting objectively better treatment (they have access to PAL games and fan-translated ROMs, even in languages other than English).

Seriously, can they not just AI translate these games? Even small publishers like Edia can translate entire JRPGs for the Turbografx-CD.

According to various sources (including this article published by Nintendo) You can play it on the original Switch, you just need a compatible USB mouse to play it.

PAL games aren't worth more than NTSC, thats bullshit. collectors value standard NTSC carts above those of all other regions due to North America having a bigger collectors market. Though you are right that they work across both systems with less hassle (you just need to snip off two little clips in the SNES itself instead of literally destroying the bottom portion of each and every cartridge, for those curious.) As to the speed thing... thats not the ROM, that was an aspect of the PAL system itself. Since PAL and NTCS don't exist for modern tvs a "PAL" version would either have to be specifically slowed down, if the original team didn't bother to make a properly sped European version, or sped up to account for the fact that its no longer running on an actual PAL system.

As to new translations... that would require then certifying the games through lot check, which takes time and money, versus being done on the cheap. There are two options here, playing the game in Japanese or not playing it at all and all loud, obnoxious faggots like you can possibly accomplish is getting Nintendo to switch to option B. And then the Mario Paint thing... sucks to suck. If you don't like it, don't buy it and I walked the walk, talked the talk by dropping NSO years ago because of how shit it was.

Link bangs princesses, farm girls and fish women.

Wario bangs pirate whores and cute anime princesses.

Mario has a whole game where he dresses as a furry and tries to calm down his giant furious reptilian bull with the help of the small reptilian child the woman he simps after gave birth to.

Clearly he is Nintendo's mascot because he's representative of their fans.

So I've been watching videos about some of these screen issues and while it's not a deal breaker, it's kind of like the lack of hall effect joysticks, and the relatively short battery life. Not something that would be an issue one a lower cost device, but those issues on top of the cost of the console really has you scratching your head. I feel like you should not have to deal with that kind of shit when buying a premium device.

It's still shit, f zero x lags a fuck ton, and all the games look worse than they would in retroarch, it's serviceable enough for a casual player, but if you actually care about N64 games, then you should stick to pc
I was mostly curious about how functional the Zelda games were versus the other licensed versions. I have the 3DS versions of both but I don’t remember how well that little nub joystick worked and fuck knows I’ll never find the cable for it.

I have not played OOT on Switch or Switch 2, but I did play through the 3DS version about a year ago, and it is a fantastic port IMO.

I guess I’ll look through the box of junk where I found the gamecube pad for the adapter. The emulation for that doesn’t seem to have any issues, and the fact that a substantial number of people that dabbled in Smash have the controllers and passthroughs for it makes the wireless one seem kind of pointless.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is the most pointless upgrade ever. It's a handheld console; who cares about MUH GRAPHICS? That's like caring about mobile phone graphics, not to mention who would buy a Switch to play big boy games like Hogwarts Legacy? Most nintoddlers prefer Mario and Zelda games. This console upgrade reminds me of when Nintendo made the 3DS Plus, or whatever it was called, with the only difference from the last one being the colors and a slightly bigger screen. Nintendo soy consumerism is peak cringe.

The nso versions are playable, they just don't look very good, since you have a 3ds id just stick with that (aftermarket chargers are pretty cheap online)

It's a handheld console hybrid, you would want the games to look and run nice when you're playing in docked mode

You ever have a phone for 7 years? You want a new one that sucks a bit less.
The Switch 2 is a lot more Switch and it's continuing the new first party exclusive a month trend and giving expansion packs and perf upgrades for games that deserved it. If you're not a poorfag and you like Nintendo games it's great. The PS5 remains an ugly, giant piece of shit with no games of its own, PC is insanely expensive to play current gen shit, and you're retarded if you buy an Xbox. It's a solid buy!
