Clearly you started you started gaming this decade because even when first party peripherals were sold at a premium, being first party meant you got what you paid for and it was built to a decent standard and performed as such. A webcam that streams video at Real Media Player quality in 20-goddamn-25 is not worth whatever price it's sold at.

The PS5 is the best selling console of this gen so people bought it no one cared.

Also, people are mad about the digital key cartridges. I don't get the point of these either but Nintendo and other consoles have sold “physical copies” that are just codes in a box for years. So why is this any different?

The target audience pay $50.00 to badly emulate the N64 so I can't even blame Nintendo for milking people who clearly have no standards, I'm just annoyed that now other studios will copy the MSRP of $80 with a $30 Season Pass (and DLC that isn't in the pass because fuck you).

Before I was born, my parents were able to afford an NES, Genesis, and a PS1 along with multiple games for my sister. They weren't rich back then. I doubt the average game was over 60 dollars at launch. Seems to mostly be stuff like RPGs and games that used special chips that were more expensive.

Did all games have that? I know back when the original switch came out just a few months that you can count on 1 hand after it's release yuzu came out and was able to emulate games. I'm sure they will find some flaw to get that to happen again.

I don't think they did, but Denuvo has been quite open about working on a Switch 2 version of their service.

Can't wait for the next console after the Switch 2 when Soytendo fans excuse games being over 100 dollars.

Next year they will do damage control for the Switch 2 OLED.

The missing piece of the puzzle here is that bankers hadn't raped the economy yet, so stuff was pricier but people also made more money. Doesn't compare to having stuff be as expensive when wagecucks can barely make a living.
