They're gonna look even more amazing emulated on my PC.

There is a really good chance that emulation for the Switch 2 will be measured in years time. Even the basics of the security implementation, if true, will be a huge challenge, unless they discovered a huge flaw somewhere in it (which given its complexity, is more likely than with a simpler system, the classic problem of complex system scaling)

Yeah, the switch had borderline miraculous conditions for emulation (one in a billion method of hacking the system, architecture being known, architecture also being similar to an existing and already emulated system, much lower power), and it STILL took a good 6 months before jewzu was in the absolute earliest stages of anything that could remotely be considered "playable", and even longer for ryujinx, a competent emulator made by non-retards/troons/grifters, to arrive on the scene. Not to mention, when a switch 2 emulator starts making headway, if they don't keep their shit gatekept, there are millions of absolute fucking morons who don't even use emulators who will tag them in every single tweet made by every single corporate nintendo account as a retarded "own", thereby bringing unnecessary heat to the project in its infancy.

Stuff that would look 1000% times better if it wasn't on the Nintendo Switch.
It would run better that's for sure. I played Visual Novels on the Switch that ran like shit.

Enjoy your new rented brick
Nintendo has been on a good streak lately. I think this is the point in time where this ends, I'm getting Wii U vibes here.
100% they are going to brick consoles for people saying offensive things online. And 200% the same people would complain and buy another console.

Saw this pop up on the Switch 2 Reddit and thought it was worth posting here:

I haven't seen this posted anywhere else, it's the full Switch 2 EULA, Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct:

https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68586/~/nintendo-switch 2:-user-agreement

It's kinda weird it's under the "Digital Purchases" category since the EULA is for the hardware directly, not just for digital purchases.

Some of the terms for the EULA are interesting:

"Without limitation, you agree that you may not..."

"...reinstall any prior version of the Software on the Console or otherwise obtain or install any version of the Software other than through distribution methods provided by Nintendo"

So, no downgrading your firmware, and no installing firmware except as through Nintendo approved channels.

"... Content obtained through the use of an unauthorized device, or through the unauthorized modification of the Console or the Software, may be removed."

If they think you have "obtained" software in a way they this is "unauthorized" they have the right to delete it from your console. Apparently they have the ability to do this remotely without warning you.

"You acknowledge that if you fail to comply with the foregoing restrictions Nintendo may render the Console and/or the Software permanently unusable in whole or in part."

Just avoiding the Nintendo Account EULA isn't enough to protect you, right in the EULA for the Switch 2 hardware itself it says they can brick your console or any of the software on it at any time if they think you have violated the EULA.

"You may be able to separately purchase physical media (such as cartridges) at various retailers which will allow you to use Software, including video games, that is compatible with the Console (“Physical Media”), and you acknowledge and agree that your use of such Software will be governed by this Agreement."

Even if you buy physical game cards and never use the online functions, you are agreeing to this EULA.

Updates; Service Availability.

"Some of these Updates may be provided automatically without notice to you. You consent to Nintendo providing you with, and installing, automatic Updates to the Software in the background with or without notice to you. You agree that any Update is considered part of the Software and governed by this Agreement."

They can "update" your console at any time, without notifying you that they are doing so, and you have no choice in the matter.

"You must install or have installed the most current version of the Software as soon as you reasonably can. Some Updates or services may change your current settings, cause a loss of data or content, or cause functionality or feature loss."

You MUST install the most current version as soon as you can, apparently you do not have the choice to not update your console, and you get the big middle finger if it destroys any of your data or you lose a function that your system previous had (reminds me of the Linux feature being removed from the Playstation years ago)

"You acknowledge that certain components of the Software, including additional data that may need to be downloaded in order to access some or all of the Software associated with Physical Media, require an internet connection."

You agree that even your physical game carts may be useless without an online connection. They can require you to have an internet connection for any reason, even for carts that don't otherwise need to be connected to the internet.

"We strive to keep the services that allow you to download this data (the “Download Services”) up and running; however, all online services suffer occasional disruptions and outages. In the event of an outage to the Download Services, you may not be able to download the data required to access the applicable Software in whole or in part."

You must accept that you may not be able to play games you have purchased if the Nintendo network goes down. Sounds a lot like the Playstation situation where you couldn't even play physical games on disc without an internet connection to "authorize" it.

Remedies for Violation; Termination.

"Your rights under this Agreement will immediately terminate if you violate any term of this Agreement, and upon any such termination you must immediately cease all use of the Console and the Software. Without limiting the foregoing, you acknowledge and agree that if Nintendo, in its sole discretion, determines or reasonably suspects that you have violated this Agreement or our Community Guidelines, Nintendo may implement technical measures designed to disable your access to, or use of, any or all of the Software or the Console."

If you violate any part of this, you immediately lose all your rights in this agreement, and you are no longer allowed to use your Switch 2 or any of the software you have for it. They again remind you that they have every right to remove your ability to use any of the software you purchased or the actual Switch 2 itself if they think you have broken this agreement.

Dispute Resolution; Binding Individual Arbitration; Class Action Waiver.

Confidentiality.

"If you or Nintendo submits a Claim, you and Nintendo agree to cooperate to seek from the arbitrator or relevant court protection for any confidential, proprietary, trade secret, or otherwise sensitive information, documents, testimony, and other materials that might be exchanged or the subject of any discovery. You and Nintendo agree to seek such protection before any such information, documents, testimony, or materials are exchanged or otherwise become the subject of discovery."

If for some reason you pursue arbitration against Nintendo, you are automatically bound by confidentiality, you have no choice.

Additional Terms.

"By entering into this Agreement, you also agree to the following Additional Terms:

If you agree to this EULA, you are automatically agreeing to the 4 above additional terms, even if you haven't had a chance to read them, you have no right to opt out of this.

Nintendo is really out to screw their customers as hard as they can, apparently.

Edit: For anyone that might be confused, this is the actual EULA for the Switch 2 hardware, not just for the Nintendo Account Services that was reported on recently.

Not that I'm a fan of eula retardation, but why are people acting like this is something new and that anything is going to be different between the switch 1 and switch 2?

And this isn't just a nintendo thing, there are extremely similar clauses that have more or less the same effect for every single console since online was a thing.

All seems pretty straightforward to me.

Beyond the retardation of arguing something is alright since it was done previously or an industry standard. You ignore this bit:
"Your rights under this Agreement will immediately terminate if you violate any term of this Agreement, and upon any such termination you must immediately cease all use of the Console and the Software. Without limiting the foregoing, you acknowledge and agree that if Nintendo, in its sole discretion, determines or reasonably suspects that you have violated this Agreement or our Community Guidelines, Nintendo may implement technical measures designed to disable your access to, or use of, any or all of the Software or the Console."
With the Community Guidelines being the usual shit that can easily be used on pretty much every online interaction.

So enjoy being bricked for pissing off a tranny.

Lol grammar nazi since you are running out of pure copium to dispense.
I take it all back. 25iq.

Like, you genuinely can't even make this shit up. The monkey gets made fun of for having the reading comprehension of a potted plant, and somewhere in that primordial cluster of loose nerves where most of us have a brain, he manages to perceive me as "enemy" and therefore my post must be making fun of him in some way, but he just can't grasp why. He must be so used to being made fun of for his grammar, that he defaulted to that. Imagine being so retarded that you lack the reading comprehension to even know when you're being mocked for your atrocious reading comprehension.

"You don't get it, when the corporation says it reserves the right to fuck me in the ass, they are just being hyperbolic" - A man(?) with a dilated asshole.

Given you clearly are incapable of communication through a written medium like a civilized human being, let me adjust my insults to a format you can comprehend:

Says the man(?) who thinks acting smug and superior invalidates legitimate criticisms.
"Ah, you see, when you said that you don't like this and you wish it wasn't the case, Xenu and the Alpha Centaurians from the 7th dimension revealed to me that you were actually speaking in secret code that you are the biggest supporter of these practices!" -"legitimate criticisms"
