All consoles have been dogshit since the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 era. Switch has managed to have a chunk of exclusive games that vary in quality but for the most part every single good exclusive has been useless. The fact that we got through the PS4/XOne/Wii U era with like 10 must play games is frankly ridiculous and it's been even worse so far this era.

The Switch worked simply because you could play your indie games on the go without needing a Steam Deck, the exclusive staples like Smash Bros, Mario Kart etc. were just.. alright and nothing special because they're functionally the same games as before but with more stuff tacked on. But I guess they're 'there' if you want to play the flashiest version of games that haven't really evolved since the GameCube era.

So the appeal of the Switch 2 is really strange, it's not the budget indie console and there's nothing exclusive to play other than Mario Kart World. But every game is 80 dolaroos and there's not that much functionally different from the Switch. Playing BOTW with another few frames per second is laughable.

Unironically neck yourself, the pre-1988 systems that don’t beige out (fucking fire retardants in the FF badge units man) are genuinely beautiful compared to a giant grey box that has cart reading issues.
I just find the red and grayish-yellow (unless that's the beiging you're on about) just terrible looking. Unironically I kinda like my gray box. And I fixed the cart reading issues on mine ages ago.

Found the guy that got pissed playing Takeshi’s Challenge in an emulator because of the karaoke room.
Not sure how a claim of "few games use it" somehow amounts to a "mad at one section in a game" defense.

"Most games on any console's library don't use steering wheels."

"Found the guy who sucks at Gran Turismo!"

"Oh, so are you saying there's a console out there where more than half the library is racing games?"

"Uhhhh..."

Incidentally, I've never played Takeshi's Challenge.

You're confusing the master system with the famicom. Famicom had no extra sound channels on oard unless you count cartridge audio, which the nes also has, just unused.
The Famicom allowed extra on-cart sound chips while the NES didn't, right? Not as a tech thing but as an NCL vs NoA licensing thing. The FDS, at least, had an improved sound system and games released for it, such as the original Zelda no Dentsetsu: Hyrule Fantasy, had to downport the sound when they got cartridge versions.

Yeah, that's add on hardware though, the base hardware is the same. If Nintendo decided to make an FDS system for the nes using the bottom connection, it would be the same. The sound pins do exist on the nes cartridge connector, but they are routed to the bottom port, which is why you need to solder a resistor to two pins to make games with add on sounds work right on an nes. So basically same shit, different utilization.

Master system on the other hand was just missing hardware compared to the JP version.

So with Pauline riding on Donkey Kong, is Mario going to be the final boss in Bananza?
plot twist, it's Jumpman/early 80s Mario.

"Me and Void Co got your bananas, and I'll get you two as well!"

It's the slightly older version of the NES, but it's mainly an thing in Japan
I know, I was being sarcastic to imply that the Famicom launch is irrelevant.

8th gen was mediocre, not quite dogshit. PS4 had a few hits, and Wii U & Vita were overly hated. That generation was pretty much carried by 3DS though.

I've never liked the look of Famicom/NES games. The way most devs used the PPU gives everything a very samey feeling and the colors are god-awful in most games.

Three colors plus transparency for sprites and four colors for BG tiles really doesn't give you a lot of room to breathe. The Master System admitted 16 colors per tile, which means you got half the tiles per cart, but it really improves the visual end of things.

"Dude what's the big deal? They've had a vice grip on your balls for years! What difference does it make now? Just get over it bro, I know it costs more money than ever, and the quality of their games has never been worse, and they reserve the legal right to brick your console whenever they want if they think you're modding a piece of hardware you paid for, but like, whatever, who cares? It runs Cyberpunk really well, isn't that the most important thing here?"
“Bro, what are you too poor to buy a second switch 2 since Nintendo bricked yours”

Mario & DK are different IPs even if connected. This new DK game doesn't feel at all inline with the series neither visually or mechanically. It definitely comes off like Nintendo reclaiming the ape from the dirty westerners.
Inline with what? There hasn’t been a 3D Donkey Kong game since the N64, and from what I understand nobody liked that one.

My personal theory on why K. Rool hadn't returned in so long is because when Rare made the split to Microsoft, they took the rights to the Kremlings with them.

Kremlings have been in a shit ton of games since the rare purchase. Retro specifically said they were allowed to use kremlings and K rool if they wanted, they just wanted to try and make something to stand on their own rather than leaning on nostalgia. Tiki tribe sucked, but the snowmads were kino.

Who owns what is well established. Nintendo owns anything that was specifically created for Donkey Kong or Star Fox. This includes all Kongs, Kremlins, collectables, Krystal and Tricky, etc. It does not include Banjo and Conker but only because they (characters who debuted in DKR) were specifically sold to Microsoft. There is one, and only one, grey area- the speed zippers used in DKRs plane levels were reused without change in Banjo Pilot, leading to a question of who owns them. In all likelihood Nintendo does but didn't notice or care when Rare updated them. Its also possible that they were too generic to trademark.

What gets me about all that is the precedent it sets. We know how the slow frog boil goes, Nintendo is "saying without saying" that you ultimately do not own what you already paid for. You don't have the rights to the Switch brand obviously, but when you buy a game or a system - you should be able to do whatever the fuck you want with what YOU bought, as it is your property now. Whether that be gifting it, modding it, or putting retarded ass bedazzles on it, whatever - that system is YOURS. What Nintendo is saying is that you own nothing goy, just like those cartridges without an actual god damn game on them, but a digital code that connects to a store which Nintendo has full control over.

2030 is a goal, not a warning. "You will own nothing". The kikes told you that openly, and they are doing their best to make that corporate common core, regardless of the nation dumping out the products. Every monopoly is following suit like they agreed to some backroom deal (which they probably did when you understand how shit like the WEF works). No industry is safe from it.
