Honestly the only f zero game I consider to be difficult is fzerox, the ai gets fucking crazy on higher difficulty levels
Obligatory mentioning that F-Zero X was explicitly designed with the N64 controller in mind and is leagues more difficult if using the wrong controller. Ditch Xbox, get on a Hall Effect controller or authentic old-school hardware. The game is practically unplayable without it due to Xbox sticks requiring a dead-zone.

I actually do have an N64, but the only useable controllers I've come across have had GameCube sticks put in them, I've never come across one with the original stick in good condition

I'll stan 8bitdo as a company on this. I picked up one of their wired controllers for around $20. The only complaint I could ever have is that they didn't have a straight black in stock so I needed to pick up mint colored one. They do good work, and if you want to guarantee you get a worthy stick, specifically check for something called a Hall Effect controller. They use magnets to achieve a no-dead-zone controller and allow for the ultra-precise movements required by F Zero X. Unsure if they make original hardware stuff, but their controller did me good.

I always wondered if N64 sticks didn't output linearly like other controllers do and the software compensated for that. 3rd party controllers never worked well. It wasn't that there was a dead zone that was a problem, the problem is that it has a huge dead zone and a little band that goes from 0-100 within like half a millimeter then another large full output dead zone. Doesn't matter what game you playing, they're all like that

I know I'm late to the party, buy I just played Mario Kart World for the first time. What did Nintendo do? They've taken all the fun out of Mario kart. The tracks are boring, and not memorable, they all blur together. The music is meh. The rubber-banding of AI is now much worse. If you are up front it's meh, and if you get stuck in the middle of the pack it's just chaos getting constantly smashed by items.

Has Nintendo lost its mojo?

N64 sticks are actually digital. I want to say there's a light inside it and the gears on the bottom of the stick disrupt the light and the N64 counts how many times the light is disrupted to determine the position of the stick. kind of like if you had to keep tapping the a button to go faster and faster and keep tapping the b button to slow down. That's why it gets all fucked up if you tilt the stick when you turn the system on.

More modern sticks do not work this way. They basically use an updated version of the Atari 2600 paddle controllers, but there are two potentiometers instead of one allowing for movement of two planes instead of one.

I don't think that's why other sticks feel so shit on N64, though. I think it's because a good N64 stick is very stiff and pushes back against you, allowing for those more precise movements. Imagine if you played mini golf for years and years, and then one day you were given a ball that's half the weight it's supposed to be. The ball wouldn't have the same momentum and physics you're used to and it's be incredibly difficult to play that way. That's playing N64 with a modern stick. The games are programmed with the expectation that you have to exert a certain amount of pressure to move the stick, and when the amount of pressure required to move the stick is decreased, it's hard to move the stick in the way the game expects you to.

Gamecube controllers also can be confused if you hold the stick down at powerup, I remember there was a button combination you can hold on the controller to reset the zero point.

Looking it up, it does look like N64 uses encoders for the joystick. There really is no reason why replacement sticks are as bad as they are. I'm sure it comes down to the hardware they have to have built in to convert analog voltage signals to a pulse/encoder output for the n64's controller's controller to read. When you set up controllers in an emulator, usually you can specify your own dead zone and you can see that the modern controllers can read extremely minute movements right at the center so it's not like it's a hardware problem with the stick itself, it's just a software/conversion issue. There really isn't much of a reason for it besides chinese knock off controllers being cheaper than fuck.

I found this retard while reading Nintendo Everything's article on the subject.

If you look very closely at the text in the first and third images you'll notice that these brands of faggotry were handled by The Pokémon Company International, Game Freak and the The Pokémon Company Japan tend to keep a cursory glance on 'em.

I can't say for sure if Nintendo Japan follows similar guidelines (I do they recognize same-sex marriage and provide support for employees in that area) but I know Nintendo of America actively participates in Seattle's Pride events when they occur.

Nintendo really has fallen. And with Japan now importing niggers and browns things will only get worse. Imagine having spend money on this console 😂

"A game made for fetuses"

Are there any Switch 2 joycons with actual dpads that are good?

What they don't want you to realize is that the Switch sold 1.6 million in its first month. So this month it did a bit over 400K. So this would be a 75% drop off. The problem really comes when you realize that this thing is very readily available. Contrast this to the PS5 which was certainly not available two months in. As time goes on, the Switch critics are going to be proven right

Why do we care what this stinkditch appreciator thinks again?

Now, I know you're particularly retarded, but it's extremely normal and in fact expected for ANY gaming product to not sell as much in its second month as its launch. Switch 1 for example sold significantly less in months 2-4 combined than it sold in month 1 alone. In addition, it wasn't really until this month that the switch 2 has been in easy supply. It wasn't impossible to get one in July, but it was definitely still in the "either track what days stores get their shipments and camp outside an hour before they open, or get really, REALLY lucky" territory.

Also, I'm tired of the revisionist history around the PS5's launch. The actual shortages didn't start until January 2021. November and December 2020 saw MASSIVE shipments (which is part of the reason the next few months were so dire, they shipped everything they had for holiday sales and didn't save any for the next few months), literally record-breaking until the switch 2 broke them. A combination of scalping and holiday (stimulus boosted) spending making them out of stock doesn't magically mean the shipments were somehow small. The fact that the switch 2's launch month + a random fuckass month in the middle of the year beat the PS4 and PS5's launch + black friday + december combined is fucking massive.

I noticed DSP claimed the game was too easy as well, even though you can find hours and hours of compilations of him failing basically everything.

"It's too easy." Basically means "I can beat it if I max out balloons, health, and apple gels."

If the game was challenging the same people would be saying it's too hard.

Well gooly gee. You got me. I made it all up. I mean, it's not like you can Google shit over a specific time period and see that you're a fucking retard. Oh wait, you can actually do that.

Sony PS5 sold out online as pandemic chills real-world retailing

In 30 minutes from the moment I’m typing this sentence, Walmart, one of the few American retailers selling the PlayStation 5 online, will restock its console shelves with an undetermined number of units. If the restocking goes exactly as it has in the past few weeks, the retailer’s website will crash within the first few minutes. When it goes back up again, everything will have disappeared from the shelves.

Why Does PS5 Stock Keep Running Out and Will More Consoles Be Released Soon?

The launch of Sony's PlayStation 5 has been defined by scarcity, as gamers scour the internet in the hope of completing a purchase before the console sells out or the retailer's website crashes.

Anyone who has tried—and failed—to obtain a PS5 since the November 12 release day may have asked themselves this question: why?

Demand is clearly extremely high and websites that sporadically have PS5s in stock are still being flooded by customers. On Tuesday, BestBuy.com was overwhelmed by traffic after teasing PS5 and Xbox Series X restocks without specifying exact times.
Here is a Reddit post from Nov 2020: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/jwo2rs/comment/gcr9o37/
Shut the fuck up dent

Again, let me reiterate. I'm well aware you have an iq most associated with that of a potted plant, and if anything, that's more insulting to potted plants than it is to you. I'll walk you through this nice and slow, just like your special Ed teachers did with all your tests you got extended time on. Sony shipped historically MASSIVE shipments of the ps5 during its first 2 months. Yes, my midwit blight, I know what you're about to say. They indeed sold out those shipments, just like every single in demand holiday trendy item has since the fucking tickle me elmo has done every fucking year. Do you see the difference between shipping over a million a month and failing to meet holiday demand and shipping in some cases less than 100k a month? Now, I know 2nd grade math were the four hardest years of your life, but 1,000,000+ is a bigger number than <100,000.
