For what its worth, the direct is dropping on Mario's Japanese birthday and speculation is twenty minutes of Mario. Probably a lot of it is MKW DLC (yawn) and NSO stuff (double yawn) but hey, maybe they do bring back 3D All Stars or a sports title or something.

Forsaken was part of that supposed NSO leak and that was released recently, so maybe we'll get Smash Bros as part of the anniversary celebration?

The Direct is one day before Mario's 40th anniversary. So I expect it to be very plumber focused.
Can we just get 3D All-Stars 2 and round out the Mario series. Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3D Land and the holy grail that is Super Mario 64 DS all put together in one package.

More optimistic prediction is a 3D Mario. A new one would be pretty cool, at the same time, I could really go for a 64 DS style remake of something like Sunshine which may as well be a pipe dream at this point. Honestly hope 3D Mario takes more visual design from Odyssey as I am growing to really dislike the new Wonder style, just looks so cheap and babyish by comparison.

If I had to guess, Animal Crossing is for next Christmas, Smash the year after that. 3D Mario somewhere in there, maybe takes Smash's spot? None of them being announced now.
Sakurai is on Kirby currently, Smash is going to be quite a ways out unless the historic control freak relinquishes control. Hell, even 3D Mario seems unlikely given DK.

It will likely be a nothing-burger with only big announcements being something Mario related and maybe…maybe a new Fire Emblem since it has been a bit. Every big team is currently on a project or just wrapped up. Splatoon and Animal Crossing are halted by the new Splatoon spin-off. 3D Mario likely pushed back by DK. Retro on Metroid Prime and Sakurai on Kirby. Kind of just leaves Next Level, so maybe a new Luigi’s Mansion announced?

Should also point out that a new DK render was found on some Mario Baseball toy, so potentially a new Super Sluggers?

I just realized, DK Bonanza was (((hollywood))) goytendo doing Wreck it Ralph. They made DK into Wreck it Ralph, and Pauline into the little girl sarah silverjew voiced. They even gave this nigger suspenders...

The absolute bottom of the idea barrel is being scraped. Lame.
Remember, it is perfectly okay when Nintendo copies someone else's idea. Don't you ever try to get even vaguely close to what they're doing or they'll sue you.

Tfw, you need to pay Nintendo for the right to ride a horse since they apperantly invented that concept.

Edit: And if a smartass wants to say it's fictional animals, Pegasus never existed.

I'm preaching to the choir, but it's so retarded nintendo can claim game mechanics like this. It'd be like if George Lucas could copyright perspective text crawl or wipe transitions(I know Kurosawa did it first, it still applies like how pokemon copied SMT). In regards to the pokemon one, the flow chart seems to imply that any game where a creature spawns from a sphere and automatically targets on to and enemy is in risk of violating the patent? The fact the shape is specified I guess allows for easy ways to doge this, by making it a cube or ellipsoid. With how nintendo act's i'm sure they'd still find a way to sue with technicalities. Patents like this can't really be enforced, but i'm assuming exist so nintendo can bully smaller developers away from trying to compete with Pokémon through threats of legal action.

If only Nintendo spent as much energy making sure Pokemon isn't a buggy, stale piece of shit as they do suing developers making a better product, maybe they wouldn't need to burn so much money on legal fees.

Five years already, crazy. The obvious reveal would be what ever the new 3d mario game will be. Either a teaser or a confirmed release date for novermber-december this year. If remakes are on the card, then it's going to be mario 64. If nintendo's extra lazy then they might do another timed compilation with galaxy 2 and 3d land, with a chance of world and odyssey thrown in. I'm not expecting much from nintendo post-iawata.

really dislike the new Wonder style
I just hope they change the VA's again. Having one guy do all the voices like charles doesn't work. The new VA just can't do them all, without it sounding like an impression of the cast rather than the characters themselves.

I would be more impressed if Ubisoft put the whole game on a card instead of this game key card bullshit.
I wish people would just accept physical gaming is dead. These hack solutions to keep the illusion alive are stupid and a waste of plasitc. The ability to pirate games is what keeps power in the hands of player without the second-hand market.

Donkey Kong Bananza's destructive environments remind me of Red Faction for some reason.

It’d have to be 64 DS as the third. In this hypothetical, it’d be the only 3D Mario not available on Switch/2. The Touch controls can likely be sidestepped with the new mouse controllers.

They need to finally add Waluigi so autistics can obsess over a new Mario character that was secretly planned for another decade. Maybe also add Peach like what was actually planned for DS.

If a new 3D Mario gets announced, are you guys betting on a 64/Odyssey style sandbox, or a Galaxy/3D Land style game?
