In other news, predictions are hinting at a full direct next week to begin February off.
Nintendo fans and "There's a big announcment coming soon that's going to announce lots of new games especially a new F-Zero or MOTHER 4 or another of my childhood favourite games that will never be financially viable to create" go hand in hand, there's a reason why "My dad who works at Nintendo" was such a big playground thing. Hell, it's even the reason for the /r/tomorrow subreddit as ever since the GameCube era, Nintendo first parties are released so agonisingly slow but there's always tomorrow when a huge shadow drop is going to happen.

I'm quietly confident there won't be any big first party releases in 2026, but third parties will clean up.

I hated the island terraforming features in ACNH they did not upgrade the voices either just seems kinda lazy expected more from a squeal a decade plus afterwords.
The voices did feel a bit off. Customization seems to be improved, especially with having multiple(?) houses per island unlike with the single hotel from the 3DS games.

The people of REEEEEsetera are, predictably, over the moon about this:

Going to disagree as I am thinking Mario is coming. No way Nintendo drops a new film without a game at the end of the year to go alongside it. Emphasis is being placed on 3D Mario due to the team splitting up to work on DK and Bowser's Fury after Odyssey, the Fury side has had quite a few years now for what was a pretty small game.

After that, I would probably confidently say Xenoblade is happening this year in some form beyond Switch 2 Editions. With the lead musician working on projects, it and Mario have the most going for them currently.

Rumored Nintendo direct next week. Everyone saying all the little ads and small directs recently are getting bloat out of the way.

All I want to see is the King in Mariokart World.
My predictions:

Switch 2 Editions for Xenoblade and Fire Emblem. The Xenoblade titles could use the performance boost and would be a great means of advertising the potential future title. Fire Emblem 3H is connected to the new game, so adding onto it would help it advertise Fortune's Weave. Personally, hoping a Switch 2 Edition gets the team to redo Edelgard's route so it is actually complete this time - wishful thinking I know.

Odd ball - Hotel Dusk gets a reimagining similar to Another Code. Based on Dear Me I Was coming out last year, it is clear the artist for these games wants his comeback and Arc Systems seems keen on building more. Most logical conclusion would be to finish off Cing's work with a Hotel Dusk collection, reimagining Room 215 and Last Window. Only question is whether it will be a late Switch title or be fully Switch 2.

Yoshi's Wooly World Switch port - allegedly the footage from the Mario Movie trailer is running smoother than the Wii U title. It is also a cheap means to have a Yoshi game for Switch 1 owners to grab after the movie.

Some Zelda title - Nintendo is getting more consistent with the IP, so I feel we will see something. Current ideas are Ocarina remake (following the new LEGO sets), or some form of 2D Zelda either new or a remake of the GBA titles.

Other predictions I have seen that could be plausible include:
  • Luigi's Mansion 4
  • ARMS 2
  • Super Mario Odyssey Switch 2 Edition

Very disappointing. I legitimately loved Tomodachi Life on the 3ds, so a new version with more content and more customization (if Miitopia Switch was anything to go by) seemed great. I should've known they'd pull something like this considering how much they likely want to avoid the whining and back press from back in 2012 (?) when the 3DS TL dropped without gay relationships.

Sort of on-topic wrt predictions. No clue when it'll come (def not this early in the Switch 2's life) but I am entirely convinced that the Switch 2's smash title is just gonna be Smash Ultimate Deluxe. Since the Switch 2 has backwards compatibility, a hypothetical Smash 6 would have to compete with SSBU. I don't see Nintendo wanting to put in the effort to try to compete with the biggest smash game, so I'm fully expecting a full priced Switch 2 version of Ultimate with maybe a few new characters, maps, and a half-assed game mode.

It's insane to me that back in 2012, everybody was all in on begging faggots to groom and rape their children. I'm grateful people are starting to wake up.

Anyway, I really think the only way to do something about this is start a HUGE fuss in the MSM and bring it to the attention of various parent groups (especially niggers since they hate faggots and trannies).

The only thing I am going to really predict is Arms 2 having Little Mac added to the roster with Punch Out Wii being mentioned as a segue into a segment showing that Wii games will be addd to NSO for S2.

I do also think Mariokart World DLC will finally be shown. And I think they’ve been working on Metroid Prime 4 DLC as a contingency knowing that the game was empty prior to launch.

Prediction for the direct:

No major new first party announcements (so, discounting ports, remakes, NSO, etc.) Splatoon Raiders gets dated to 2026. Bunch of third party shit nobody cares about.

I can't see Arms 2 happening. Iirc the team behind it made the cripple basketball game and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour so they've been busy and Arms didn't sell particularly well. They cancelled the graphic novel which to my knowledge was complete and ready to print. Also if it were to happen, I think it would need to use the Joycon 2 gimmicks and besides maybe having a voice come out of the Joycons, I can't fathom what they could do.

That may be true and on brand, but I also can see them announcing a brand new Smash game that takes the series in a new direction. Possibly with Sakurai not directing it and only in an advisory role.

Like it or not, but when Iwata died and Reggie retired, that was the end of Nintendo.
We just had two other longtime veterans announce their retirement within the last couple weeks, and Miyamoto is permanently in the movie/museum/theme park mines. It’s becoming more and more evident that Nintendo isn’t Nintendo anymore.
