Yeah, the fact they already backpedaled and said they'd be putting out a patch that undoes the censorship in non japanese regions kinda gives away the whole story. Nine times out of ten, if something seems weird and inconsistent, like cyberpunk being uncensored and dispatch being censored for example, there's some other variable going on.

what's stopping nintendo from just allowing you to buy a version without the gay shit?
it clearly exists, it's the one japan is getting, why can't I buy that version?

I asked the same thing when the US copy of spiderman had a pride flag.
but a version out of the US removed it, why can't i play that version?

The US and JP versions are likely the exact same thing, just with translation differences. "Nonbinary" and "other" are probably gameplay-identical. Not that Tomodachi Life even has gameplay anyway, why is anyone even talking about it at all is my question.

The shitstorm that would occur if Nintendo were to give people the option to buy faggotry-free versions of their games would be unlike anything we've seen before. Bridges all around the world would be impassable for weeks as trannies line up one after the other to commit suicide, and the 41% would become 99%.

if I were Nintendo,
I'd make the gay trans kids version a limited run title like the 3d Mario collection, and have a regular "Male, Female" option for the digital only copies.
the gay tax plus the Nintendo tax would price out anyone normal from seeing the gay shit,

if they're willing to kickstart 80$ games for nothing. they could easily start saying "if you want your game to match your politics, that's a 10$ charge"

If a game like MOTHER 3 were to be localized in current year it'd be tainted by treehouse who'd rewrite them as trannies doing quirk chungus yass queen speak shit and sanitize the funny scene that happens near the start you'll only get the joke of what it sounds like if you're an adult likesega sanitized the US release of the persona 5 cutscene of ryuji getting kidnapped by gay guys crushing on him literally only like a year or 2 after persona 5 came out when they did the deluxe version. Honestly with how much shit got changed in TTYD's remaster english release I'm fucking shocked they didn't butcher the mario rpg script in the same way outside unnecessary character renames and lazy inconsistency of "forgot to change it to a localized one".
