Great update. Improves tons of Switch 1 games.
So far they only seem to force it off for games that heavily use touch screen input like Mario Maker.
Of course it's great for third-party games that were never going to get Switch 2 updates, but it also improves most of Nintendo's games. Xenoblade, Kirby, Smash Bros. etc. all benefit.
Nintendo isn't blacklisting games just to be jewish as you can refuse to pay for upgrades for BOTW, TOTK, Xenoblade X etc. and this feature still works on their Switch 1 versions.

I mean it's a good start, plus a bunch of third parties who AREN'T fucking kikes will be able to drop updates without creating a seperate Switch 2 port.
I believe you're missing the forest for the trees.

If Nintendo had the compacity to do this from the get-go, then what the fuck prevented them from doing this with the 1st switch? Everyone knew how fucking terrible the performance was on handheld mode for most (if not all) games because they were blasted all over the internet before the damn thing was even released. The whole point of the Switch is supposed to be a console that you can also turn portable on the fly, and the Switch 1 can barely carry the work for half of the job it's supposed to do.

This essentially means the Switch 1 was nothing more than a glorified beta machine and Nintendo made everyone the fucking testers.... FOR FREE! People gave Nintendo money so they could do the jobs Nintendo is supposed to fucking do themselves. Everyone got fucking suckered into Nintendo's con, and the fact that people are going "oh, this is good news!" is fucking scary. We were sold a purposefully gimped machine! If this was decades ago, there would be people on the streets with pitchforks in their hands.

....b-b-b-but Open World Bing Bing Wahoo looks and runs so much better now! Doesn't that make it all worth it?!

You mean the ""Upgrades"" that should have been standard in the original releases if they were actually optimized correctly and made well?... Yeah, I'll pass on those "upgrades".

How bout them games though? We're steadily approaching 1 year of Switch 1.5 and what do we have? Donkey Kong Odyssey, some trash pokemons, the worst Metroid Prime game (and it's not even exclusive), Mario tennis 15, a handful of gamecube games you could have been emulating for free for 15 years... and what, all these ""upgraded"" Switch 1 games? Lol, what a joke. And what's coming later this year? Rhythm heaven? Lol. Nigger Emblem: Sheboon's Weave maybe? KEK. Dude this is embarrassing. Nintendo should be down on their jap knees worshipping the disney nintendo adults keeping them afloat right now.

Let's get some context - back during the Wii's year 1 (Nov 2006-Nov 2007), you had the releases of WiiSports, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (on handheld), all released within the same year. Do you realize how fucking insane that is? That's not even getting into other titans released on the other consoles like Halo 3, Bioshock, The Orange Box, God of War II, Dead Rising, and Call of Duty 4... Jesus fucking christ we are being fed scraps these days. There is no defense for this current industry.

How is that Cult of the Lamb game?
Late, but it's a fantastic game. I'd never play it on a Switch though.

It's notoriously optimized like garbage for any platform other than PC, and it'll take you no time to make the game run terribly as you increase your flock. There's a hard ceiling.

I initially played it on a PS5 and it almost became unplayable not too long into the game.

You are complaining about a console that was designed to be ethier handheld or docked only 7 years ago with its succesor being updated so it can do something in its backwards compatibility mode that you can do with an original switch you could just hack with a modchip and do basically the same thing with homebrew or tick the TV mode on a switch emulator.

Besides, its not like it would even help with the original switch when you still have to worry about the shitty battery draining even faster than it already does just for a consistant framerate and visuals and on a 720p screen so now ypu have to factor shit like downscaling and text and things further away only noticibly being made better by the increased resolution because of said downsampling.

I don't care that the Switch 2 has "better" tech than the 1st one.

My point, which obviously went over your head, is that Nintendo should have gotten this right the FIRST time instead of waiting for newer hardware, even if it mant delaying the console to a later release date. Everything that has come out about the Switch 2 just screams "oh, this is really the version we wanted to make but couldn't be fucked to get it right the first time around". It's so bad, that the Switch 1 is going through a repeat of what the WiiU went through when the Switch 1 took over the games from that console. In fact it even has shades of the 3DS and the """new""" 3DS when that came around because it pulled the same crap too even if it was to a lesser extent.

You can scream "faulty hardware" and "modding makes it better" all you want... the reality is that Nintendo dropped the ball on this HARD and no amount of backpeddling and playing defense is going to excuse them for this utter embarrassment of move after move they've been pulling regarding anything Switch 1 and 2 related. If I buy a brand-spanking new console, I expect it to work as advertised and intended.

And if you can't comprehend that, then let me spell it out another way... we went from blowing on cartridges to make them work again, to buying completely new machines to fix stuttering issues on old-ass games that got a re-release on said new machines that even the most potato-ish of PCs can run better with. Nintendo as a company is FUCKED, and if they had any self-awareness they would commit seppuku on live TV for the bullshit job they've been performing for quite some time.

Ah yes, because the specs they went with the first time could just do it the first time, nevermind the hacks people had to further make past the the complete hacking of it just to force that to happen like i mentioned before, they just had to do it less retardedly!

I guess Iwata and the people who designed the first switch should have had 7 fucking years of hindsight to know to do it then.

And it largely does work as intended because you don't see that many people complaining about how a specific game isnt working because they figured out what ones don't by now (if they wern't fixed by now) or were already under stipulations nintendo themselves already signposted, especially more so with those console updates that tried to address those in the former catagory

Even right now people have been figuring out what ones dont work with the boost mode, and it largely boils down to games that actually used a touch screen, had S2 patches already, or dont have a solid reason they can point to.

And if you can't comprehend that, then let me spell it out another way... we went from blowing on cartridges to make them work again, to buying completely new machines to fix stuttering issues on old-ass games that got a re-release on said new machines that even the most potato-ish of PCs can run better with.
Then do that, just dont waste your money on Nintendo consoles and play on your PC, it's also not like we had a switch emulator avalible for years that can play all of Nintendo's S1 catalog perfectly fine if you are that desparate to play a bunch of largely children's games and there's nothing that worth playing on the S2... you know, just like what has been going on with the Xbox and Playstation consoles with thier recent consoles execpt they didn't port everything they had over in an attempt to recover money from thier own retarded decisions (and also a largely lacking emulation scene for them short of the PS4 reletively recently).

If you think Nintendo is milking your wallet with the "boost mode", then get ready for the new better Switch2 model coming :story:

A New Nintendo Switch 2 Console Model is Coming
If a europe only model with the only differerence being a removable battery in an attempt to quell the "right to repair" people that only really exist there is major news... thats just another indicator of how low jurnolism has gotten, but then again, an optional feature for almost every switch 1 game for the follow up console that you could get unofficially for years by hacks or emulation buck broke a few people in this thread.

Nintendo Switch 2 is dominating. Pokemon Pokopia is probably going to be the best game released this year, and games like Mario Tennis are endlessly playable. I’ll probably put hundreds of hours into both.

It’s an amazing platform.

In the latest system update for the Switch 2, Nintendo has added a "Handheld Boost Mode" for Switch 1 games. This option will allow compatible Switch games to run as if it's "in TV Mode" on the Switch 2 while in handheld mode, meaning improved visuals. "But wait a minute Vyse", you may be asking, "doesn't that mean that the Switch 2 Editions of Switch 1 games are even more pointless than they already are?" Not to worry, Jewtendo thought of that:

Because why apply it to all games when you can nickel and dime your niggercattle fanbase for every red cent they have?
It's like the car manufacturers that gimp their own cars if you don't pay enough. The obvious end result when your brand is more important than performance.

It's barely been a year!

Yeah journos release statements that Nintendo is going to imminently release improved models of their hardware to tank stock prices and sales.

Remember when the Switch Pro was supposed to come out in 2018?

My wife and oldest kid really wanted to play the new Pokemon game, so I got one of these fucking things for for the family as a kind of early Easter present. I have zero interest in Pokemon, but I do like Mario Kart, so I figured I may as well get the discount on Mario Kart if I was buying a Switch 2 and got the bundle.

I found Mario Kart World incredibly disappointing. The graphics are good, the mechanics and controls are good, the music is good, the little obscure references like god damn TokoTokos being in there are cute, but this has to be the weakest course design in the history of the series. I think the base Mario Kart 8 for Wii U was easily the best Mario Kart they ever made in terms of track designs and mechanics even with its flaws. With the Deluxe version for Switch, they basically fixed everything wrong and made Mario Kart 8 into the perfect Mario Kart game. Given that, I guess they knew they had to take things in another direction, but outside of maybe the new Bowser's Castle, I think this is the most boring set of original tracks in the history of the series. It really does come off like they expected the big selling point to be the open world and the the actual racing was secondary.

Here's the thing though, my kids love Pokopia, my kids love the big open world in Mario Kart World. That's great, I like giving my children things they enjoy! But if it's a system for children, why the fuck does it cost so much? This is what I keep coming back to. It was never a question that Nintendo can make quality game software, but does the system justify the cost? Even as a person who now owns one, I don't see it.

Also, fuck me, I never expected Pokopia to be a system seller, but apparently it is. The key card version was sold out all over town so I had to buy it digitally. I'm curious if its release is going to lead to a spike in Switch 2 sales.

Because its not for kids anymore, its for the adult nintendo fanboy (like disney adults) that buy anything nintendo blindly. Like that Pokopia that comes on a fucking key card, even if the game fits on a proper game card. Sell your soul to the digital future and welcome own nothing, then cry about it when they shutdown the servers. Pathetic!... you get what you deserve when you support anti customers practices.

So the same thing as on Steam, Xbox, Playstation, and many, many other would be gaming platforms like the Stadia. People had thier chance in 2004 when Half-Life 2 came out with the forced steam requirements and the majority let it happen.

My multi-terabyte XHD says different. Come on goytendo S.W.A.T. come to my house and try to take it from me lol. You will never get me to pay a rent forever tax just to play an inferior version of F-Zero GX on your underpowered gamegoy. Maybe make another good game in the series instead of letting it collect dust for 23 Years. Speaking of...

We get it, you are an emulation loving faggot who won't shut up about ROM Sites being "le heckin' best thing to say fuck corpos with" and are the exact kind of person who cases companies like Nintendo to go after them because they won't shut up about these sites.

(BTW, this still changes nothing about how all four major gaming platforms have universally moved to the "You will own nothing and be happy" because thats what the supermajority of people have agreed to over the years.)
