Megathread Non-binary genders / Enbies - When Male and Female Aren't Special Enough

I laughed harder that I should. Based.
Still, I have sympathy for her parents.

Help. I've gotten stuck on "agender".
This one just sounds like she has issues with the size of her breasts and has turned that into a gender identity:
Slight PL, but I can relate to a lot of what she's saying in this video, but it;'s just because she's physically uncomfortable. She even calls it out directly around the 11 minute mark.
She also mentions that she doesn't like being physically small and that she's been working out without many visible gains. That's just a bad diet and improper exercise. Women do gain muscle more slowly than men, but if you aren't seeing muscle growth, then you need to change something.

That last one looks like she self-identifies as a cholo. This is why you don't let your kids listen to shit music.

"I know what'll really stick it to 'em! I'll destroy myself! That'll make them think twice!"

What literally is going on with that kind of psychology? I even experienced it, one time, as a teenager. It was that time of the month, wasn't thinking properly, and even then I realized, this is stupid and going to hurt, so I put the bread knife back in the block lol.

She is literally trying to black herself out. What a nut.

The thing with women who do the gender shit and their breasts is so bizarre and kind of gross.
These women obsess more over tits than most straight men, by a measure. I'm assuming for women there's some major symbolic significance they place in their chest that men just don't see, because the fixation seems almost pathological.
It's always breasts, and breast surgery, and binders, and all this other shit, when realistically features like having wide hips are a more identifiable marker than breasts; you can get a tit job and sometimes fool people, but hips are hard to replicate.

I'm not sure how much of the whole thing is based upon their perception of others' perception, but I get the feeling a lot of these women don't spend a lot of time around males. If they did I think they might realize their experience isn't that different and be dispelled of a lot of their beliefs about gender somehow being the source of their issues.

Tbh I also don't understand the recent rise in women being into strength training or wanting to be "muscular", but that I don't see any downside to.

To be fair rap and modern rap culture is already pretty effeminate in a lot of ways, so it isn't too big a leap.

I've noticed that too. You see it time and time again in the "Tranny Sideshows" thread, women who like the idea of men or this construction of men they have from yaoi, etc. but who haven't spent much time around actual men. A lot of them seem to lack fathers and don't have brothers either. It's bizarre.

So part of it I think is better education about how weight training can help with:
  • Bone density (women are more at risk of osteoporosis)
  • For some women it helps with menstrual things (both periods, PMS, and other things) more than cardio can alone
  • Raises BMR
  • Helps with back and neck pain from boobs
Less-rational reasons:
  • It's "in fashion"
  • They're looking to get a bigger butt through squats or whatever (it doesn't work that way)
  • They're looking to target a specific body part (also doesn't work that way)
  • "Cardio bunnies" are derided
For a case of a woman doing it wrong, check out the April Lauren thread.

I'll add some of mine:
  • Tracking lift numbers is more motivating than the ups and downs of the weight scale
  • It's fun
  • It's good to be stronger
  • As I'm aging it's becoming clear that having a muscular build keeps the bingo wings and flippy-floppy pancake ass at bay just a little bit longer.
I've been doing it for over a decade and I've actually noticed a decline and then plateau of women doing any serious weight lifting. I don't think crossfit is as hot as it used to be. Though certainly as long as the Kardashian look is popular, we'll always have a ton of girls squatting and doing donkey kicks in the gym.

More weird "genders" from YouTube/TikTok

I see that robotically reciting definitions is still a mainstay of these tiktoks. Y'know, for people who laud themselves as informers and explainers, they so often suck at explaining things.

From the first video:
Question: "What is the difference between bigender and nonbinary?" Thank you for this question and I'll be glad to explain. First of all, nonbinary is an umbrella term for gender identities that are neither male or female. So if you are bigender, which falls under the nonbinary umbrella, you could also use the term nonbinary. Bigender, which I've explained in a separate video down below, is when you identify with two separate genders. This could be male-female, female-nonbinary, nonbinary-male, or any other combination. Because this identity is not strictly male or female, it would also be considered nonbinary. I know this explanation was small, but that pretty much covers it, so I hope this helped you out some.

Bigender is a specific type of nonbinary.

That's it. That's all you needed to say. You literally never needed to define both terms and go out your way to say why some people can be both.

And yet, despite that answer's wordiness, there was an awful lot about it that was left unsaid, which the viewer would either have to pick up from context or piece together from what they already know.

Such as whether it's possible to fit the definition of nonbinary without identifying as it. The definition of nonbinary is so broad that it includes every permutation of bigender - and yet, the answer says "you could also use the term nonbinary", which would only make sense if identifying as nonbinary was optional. That is not something you can just assume people know if they're watching Q&A videos like this.

So with that in mind, here's how I would have phrased it:
Bigender is a term for a specific type of nonbinary gender, for when a person feels that their gender consists of two distinct parts. Those parts in combination make a gender that isn't fully male or female, which automatically makes it nonbinary. But they aren't limited to just male and female - one or both of them could be another nonbinary gender. And of course, identifying as bigender doesn't mean you need to call yourself nonbinary. Different people prefer different terms for all sorts of reasons, and it's fine to use either one, or both.

There. I actually managed to cover more bases with that explanation, in fewer words, using all the correct gender-affirming lingo, and even some extra-affirming platitudes thrown in. Seriously, if a Kiwi Farms transphobe can teach your gender better than you can, maybe it's a sign that you should question far more than just your gender.

I bet you $10 that these same-yet-totally-different genders secretly hate each other.
This happens far more than you think with sexualities - pansexuals and bisexuals, asexuals and lesbians, asexuals and aromantics - have all been in petty little scraps with the other group because they get mistaken for each other.

And it usually tends to happen when one of the newer groups is perceived to be stealing power and influence from the older, more established group, such as closeted lesbians assuming they're asexual because they don't like boys, or bisexuals identifying with the pointless term 'pansexual' even though 'bisexual' is already the word for that.

It doesn't seem to happen as much with gender variants (lesbians and trans lesbians are still the most iconic enemies, albeit for different reasons). And I haven't heard it it happening at all between different types of nonbinary gender. I'm not sure why though, other than the main conflict seeming to be between nonbinaries and LGBs, so they are at least united by a common enemy.

I do know of one case, allow me to introduce xenogender.

While most seem too overlap (like the bi/pan thing), I have seen several instances of these people saying things like "Do not use any gendered pronouns for me, male, female, or neutral" or insisting on emoji-pronouns which I thought was a joke until I met someone who was very clearly serious about it.
Most xenos seem to be literal children, but again, I've encountered otherwise in a setting where the individuals were very serious.

There’s this woman I work with who told me about how her daughter decided to be non-binary due to how her older sister essentially put her family, as she put it, through the wringer and back the other way due to all the relationship drama she dealt with.

She also talked about how they recently made a cake to celebrate some obscure Marvel character’s birthday and now they’re heading back to California because they’re more “accepting”.

She’s trying to be supportive of her kids’ decisions and even painted her nails in the color of the “non-binary” flag. But I could tell she wasn’t particularly happy about the whole thing.

I hope things work out for her, she’s a nice lady.

* prances around like teenage girl regardless of which "gender" they feel like *
Riiiiiight... So obnoxious how these enby people call themselves "masc". There's so many lesbians who hold themselves in much more masculine ways.
I would almost bet enby wouldn't be a thing if tumblr would've just let stupid teenage girls "fetishize" and drool over twinks and boy bands.

Non binary is inherently some of the most sexist tumblr garbage. They highlight all the gender roles and expectations, lump the world into it, and say "if you don't conform to these, you're non binary too!" The problem is most people in modern society don't conform to those anymore, because this isn't the 1800s anymore. Little Mary isn't non binary because she likes Nerf guns, and little Billy isn't non binary because he played with a barbie doll. By their own definition, everyone is non binary.

Saw this video the other day. To me, this "guy" still acts like a woman, but the enbies she's talking about are even worse.
Particularly this person from the middle of the video who absolutely see "gender" as a performance:

Personally, I'm mixed on the whole concept of non-binaryism. On the one hand, I believe in strict gender roles, and those who do not fit within those gender roles are people I don't consider to be real men/women. On the other hand, declaring yourself to be "non-binary" is a cringy as fuck cope for failing to act your gender
