Protip: If you're writing in first person, you damn better be able to describe your character not only damn well, but also with enough variety to keep it interesting. You also might want to make their thoughts and opinions obvious, as the entire story is more or less being perceived through their eyes.

I see no such attempts being made in this. Not only is the main character of this... this crime against literature a mary-sue, but they're completely and utterly soulless. I don't even sense the author's opinion inside them, just an endless void akin to a nonentity.

I'm not as experienced with first person as third person, but IMHO when you commit to writing in first person you also have to commit to describing your narrator as minimally as possible. At least be tactful about it. Even when I'm looking in the mirror I'm not mentally listing and describing every article of clothing. I'm thinking, "Does this look good?"

EDIT: Although this does depend on the narrative framework. If it's stream-of-consciousness then descriptions should be kept to a minimum or brought up only when relevant (ex: smeared make-up from crying, being too short to reach something). But if the story is being told through a diary or letters or something then it's more acceptable to get specific. I'm not sure what framework Boutin used, if any.

Greetings (for my first post)~

Please read this, or click on this link as of the time I am posting this.

No, your eyes haven't have a crisis, you are not unwell, you are reading exactly what is on that page.

Yes, the author actually went in on the TV tropes page and proceded to highjack it by BAWWWW-calling the author of the article, and attempting to angrilly defend everysingle trope found on it like the seven-year-old he really is. Checking on the history page, the edits were done on the 30th of this month. We are watching butthurt, unmatched in our age, go live.

He will be surely laughed at like the retard he is, and then promptly banned as he should be.

So since I've started this thread there has been some new updates on websites as the book gets more coverage:

A book reviewer rated the book "Ebola":

An article reporting that since his sock-puppet reviews got deleted on Amazon, he wrote a review of his own book on his website:

One-Star'd on Goodreads:

Someone made a wiki documenting the book and the author's idiodicy, the site seems to take influence from the Cwiki in its layout. We should get a hold of the wiki creators:

Not much to really add to this but this guy inboxed me a year or so ago on good reads asking me to review his book.
Rather than giving away a free copy he still expected me to pay him full price and still give a positive review.
He seemed to be under the impression this book would improve my life and I would be able to look back in pride at the fact I had been one of the first chosen readers to enjoy what was certain to become a best seller.

This guy seems to have disappeared but holy shit this tome really does look Sonichu and Gloria Tesch tier. Mary Sues. A severely autistic narcissist as it's author and main promoter. Truly deserving of a wiki and the Rabbit Hole video.
Certainly deserved to be laughed offline.

I want to acquire this magnificently appalling book - Is it digitally available somewhere?

From the video I found it looks like someone made a wiki akin to cwcki. I'm reading it now:

He's still around, he hangs out on his internet 1.0 site where he calls out negative reviews, last update is June 13th:
http://www.empresstheresa.com/

It seems he's retreated there since he can moan about negative reviews without anyone countering them. It's like all the other narcissistic lolcows we follow where they have a "safe space" that they can hide in where they have total control of the message.

Doesn't surprise me if that's the case. It comes down to whether people want to continue going to his site or not.
