Very true, politically the NPC meme could go either way. The left so far has just failed at using it in a funny way, or decided to screech about it being evil, racist, or whatever. My favorite part is that people are getting so worked up over something so goofy.

It’s a really good piece of cultural commentary that’s been used politically. Just fucking say “no you”, show someone putting on a red hat, turning gray and quoting immigration stats and be done with it. It hurts because it’s fucking true, you’re not going to legislate away hurt feelings.

Any time you look at a reddit thread or gawker comments, it’s a mad fucking scramble to make the approved point/joke first. How can you deny the NPC meme when you’ve literally tied your dopamine to saying your line?

Well, the NPC thing also works so well because SJWs get their power from constant offense. The NPC meme is so powerless, you have to want to be offended by it. SJWs want to get offended. But if they get offended, they're acting just like the rest of the SJWs getting offended over a very silly meme.

Moreover, there's nothing even vaguely racist or sexist about it. They've tried to paint it as such, but it just doesn't work, no sane person is going to buy that. They see a harmless silly thing and people freaking out over it (And all in the same way). It's basically a better version of the OK symbol thing.

It's hilarious, because it's exactly the same as "sheeple" which is a very corny insult that nobody really cares about.

Its effective because the hatred of the meme is one of the most obviously instructed things. When you google "NPC meme" 90% of the first couple of dozen things it will pull will be about how terrible and dehumanizing it is. The whole opposition to it is such a transparent attempt to devalue the usage of it that it just reinforces the memes usage against it.

Its like a Chinese finger-trap, it exists to make morons and children make fools of themselves.

NPC Memes first appeared in 2016, poking fun at people who seemed to have no inner monologue. Likening said people to non-player characters in a video game, who speak only preprogrammed opinions and think only what they're told to think.

In other words, just another edgy way to call people sheep.

The memes themselves are totally harmless (if unfunny) and just exist to poke fun at "woke" people. And I have absolutely no problem with that. Those fuckers annoy me too.
