Okay, in the hypothetical chance women did get drafted, these are the reactions I’d expect from men:
- Men getting mad at the influx of women in the military and believing it’s weaker because of it (even if women were only in positions that aren’t as physically demanding as men’s)
- Men getting mad that women aren’t at home taking care of kids, and instead using their fertile years to be soldiers
- Men worrying about fertility rates overall decreasing, since fewer women mean less potential births
It’s really a no win situation for women to be or not to be drafted. Even then, while men are required to sign up for the draft at 18, by law, in the US, the draft itself hasn’t been used for 50 years. The draft has overall been shown to be extremely unpopular, and it would really be much easier to up the benefits and pay for when a bigger war happens.
