I've said something like this in the Snoo thread. I don't think the whole mentality of people "deserving" things really explains this scenario well. They may or may not garner your sympathy, but that's completely irrelevant to whether they get talked about here. If their footprint is big enough, in which case Bella's most certainly is, they'll get notoriety here regardless, especially when they're associated with other lolcows, who are already under people's radars to begin with. Bella got involved in Chris drama, so it only followed attention would be given to her.

I don't look at the ILJ subforum for one afternoon and I come back this evening to find everything went to hell in a handbasket.

What the fuck did I miss

At least last time I checked last night we had:

- Either a troll account or a sockpuppet ILJ sending spooky some weird ARG shit
- More Leaked Discord DMs
- A cool lil' Map with info helping somewhat new peeps navigate through this all Behind the scenes

and then I come to laugh and see some "hot takes" and then I find out everything is on fire.

Personally I like the subforum (Though I'm probably Biased since I post here the most if at all) but I don't really care what happens to it, I'll just find somewhere else to laugh and bring the small quips that literally no-one asked for.

My thoughts on if we should delete it, Nah. Just lock it or some shit, though it's honestly up to Null.

The largest thread on this board by a good margin, with the exception of the original thread (1,132 pages), is the slapfights thread (53 pages.)
For reference, the third largest thread is this one (45 pages), which was only relevant as Fiona's AMA was actually happening, almost two months ago (though IIRC a lot of Fiona-related posts got merged into it over time, for some reason.)
I think that says a lot about the absolute state of this board's posters (myself included), if not the board as a whole.

EDIT: I feel I should also point out that another large thread (for this board, anyway) was the thread in which @Angry Canadian was allegedly faildoxed, which again showcases that this board has been prone to autistic in-fighting, faildoxing, and shit-stirring even since its inception.
Here is a link to an archived version, as it has 10 more pages than the version in Spergatory (10 whole pages of merged/deleted posts?)

Can't really say I was ever a fan of a "slapfights" thread. I just feel that'd give people a safe space to act all retarded, and thus give them a reason to act that way everywhere else.

The problem: @Spooky Bones is charismatic. A successful jannie needs to blend in, if not fade into the background. The subforum turned into a cult of personality where everyone was polarized.

My suggestion: lock the subforum. Move the actual cow threads to the CWC forum, including Bella, Sean, and (maybe) GiBi.

I think a lot of people are being too hard on Spooky. He didn't want the jannie job, but he accepted it because the Bella leak was too large for a single thread to contain. He wrangled newfags and tards for weeks. I'm certain it must have impinged on IRL activities, but he never dropped his broom.

Yes, he got autistic to the point of obsession in some cases. He was overly invested, and he didn't react well to being attacked. Been there, done that. I think backing away for a while is overdue and welcome.

Spooky's weaponized autism is impressive, his dedication to the subforum is unimpeachable, and his contributions should not go unremarked simply because a doomed subforum detonated under his watch. People have been predicting it for weeks. It was the nature of the subject matter: a firehose of information that fell to a bare trickle once the trolls retreated to their caves.

Time to clean up after the kegger, simple as.

Regardless of one's opinions for merging these threads elsewhere or keeping the board (I am for keeping it), the truly amazing growth rate and speed of the initial detective work done on Portobella here, the evidence of the real time explorations that unfolded right after The Merge, etc...well, its a remarkably good record of what this community can do, warts and all. No matter where it ends up I think it a necessary part of the history of KF and must be searchable even to non-users.

**Edit to add: If it wasnt for this forum, some of the right people joining it early on, and sussing out stuff from them, theres a chance the frame fiona plot would have worked at least for a time. This also shows to the world what KF really is and not what many normies think it is.

Also, while Spooky Bones had made some errors (who wouldn't have to be in charge of such a rapidly growing thread with little prior experience?) the dogpiling going on right now frankly stinks of backlash to compensate for prior fawning.

She did fine as a local mod. Everyone makes mistakes. I felt the AmHog/Marvin thing was shitty, but nothing to be punished for. The problem coulda been handled better by people higher up the food chain stepping in and untangling the mess and describing a resolution, but that's about the only thing.

This board couldn't live forever and shouldn't. It's about someone who had some web presence but clearly wasn't going to stick around post-chris. Also, the most notable thing about her is the whole involvement with chris, so basically this board had a purpose for organizing the unfuckening of understanding what happened when with how. You could armchair quarterback or whatever all you want how @Spooky Bones handled it, but she's not some professional forum mod who came in on a contract. Just an interested person with her own bag of problems, as are all other users or staff.

In all, she woulda been a fine forum mod, but decided that this bullshit is too much of a headache. Nol should prob start a DM chain with her to ask what to do with these threads. Some should go to lolcow, some to CWC, and some into the archive.
