As Null loves the British and troons, here is some Dead or Alive
The singer

Obviously.
This is cheating because it's SoaD's lead singer.

No songs in this thread really hooked me tbh (I knew Shaky Graves / Dreadnoughts / Leningrad beforehand tho). Here's some recent likes I have.

Foreign:
Гречка - Это убило меня https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-TRhIjqBKg
Ленинград - Ноу ноу фьюче https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8mse172QxU
(I really don't hate any song by Leningrad. I've listened to his entire discography, but Для миллионов is probably my favorite album.)
France Gall - Laisse tomber les filles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWRCJhsz5t4
זאב טנא - ביירות https://youtu.be/ryZ03Jm9TNQ
Черниковская Хата - Ты Не Верь Слезам https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh2PYPZJAzA
Horses are Running https://youtu.be/VPu0Nim-1pY

Hard and fast, my favorite song in the Russian language is a song called Chelovek i Koshka (Man and Cat).
Nol's rendition is contemporary, clean, and very pleasant
Ноль - Человек и кошка https://youtu.be/jaL79kDUzPM
There is also a great rendition with an excellent music video by Ukrainian SSR (nationalized Russian) actor Sergei Garmash.
Сергей Гармаш - Человек и кошка https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyGOf0jdOoQ

Rap
Rap mostly sucks. I like K.Flay in general and what's considered "introspective hiphop", which is a genre with lyrical emphasis on cultural/societal critique. A lot of 90s rap can fall under this. I believe in music that tries to spotlight problems and fix them, for problems both internal and external. This is best encapsulated in Dance with the Devil, which I consider one of the best hip hop songs ever made.
Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdRPKhPHln8
Tom MacDonald - "NO LIVES MATTER" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t86ClLM3ZGY
Mike Shinoda - Make It Up As I Go (feat. K.Flay) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qnCVgtENDo
Kritikal - Green and Purple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x4weajfqm0
Lecrae - Dirty Water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0pAUhN3JPA

Contemporary
Catchy, but not shit. Most of these songs I can put on 1 hour loops while programming.
Twenty One Pilots - Chlorine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKFzKIa_pIM
Metric - Help I'm Alive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrhE2AtdH6E
The Weeknd - Blinding Lights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHI8X4OXluQ
MGMT - Little Dark Age https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETEg-SB01QY
Interpol - Evil https://youtu.be/eqfiHfDmOnw

Indie / Weird Shit
memeish but good
Tally Hall - Ruler of Everything https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8sUC-dsW8A
Tally Hall - Turn the Lights Off https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLrdSC9MVb4
Jakob Bienenhalm - Jockel der Gartenteichspringbrunnen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWV1N3xXy-g
Andrew Jackson Jihad - Growing Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd-_R4NGWh8
Rainbow Kitten Surprise - It's Called: Freefall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uT993iRVYc

Instrumentals
I have no idea what makes an instrumental catchy to me. It's very random. I don't like instrumentals in general, lyrics are very important to me. It has to invoke a strong emotion and that's sometimes cheated just by being in an OST of something I like (i.e. a lot of Runescape songs).
Tropico 2: Pirate Cove - Hermandad De Piratas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D85zp9GFg-c
Yppah - R. Mullen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JxeZB8PgG4
Patrick Carney - BoJack's Theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkhHY7U3LwU
Reichi Nakaido - Free Zone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUQXEAqWhuA

This is cheating because it's SoaD's lead singer.
But why? Ok, I'll make the same joke with this one.

Seriously though, not a bad band, at least their first album.

This thread is great timing, I was already compiling music to post that I really enjoy. Many songs Null played on his MATI streams before the licensing issues would have been on this but I'll omit the ones everyone probably knows

Shayfer James - Mercy Down / Alternative Rock

The Hoosiers - Up To No Good / Smooth Rock

Lemon Demon - Cabinet Man / Alternative Indie

KNOWER - THE GOVERNMENT KNOWS / Electronic

FrankJavCee - OMEGAWAVE1986 ft Matt Watson / Youtuber

Pogo - Take Those Pills / Electronic

The Buttress - Nothing Wrong with Me / Hip-Hop

The Dead South - Banjo Odyssey / Country

Robert Ellis - Sing Along / Bluegrass

Playboy Manbaby - Cadillac Car / Punk

...etc
I listen to music to relax, and instrumental music is my favorite; Runescape music is great.

This song came over my Pandora one day back when I still used Pandora, and I've found this group to be a mixed bag of great songs and meh-to-shit songs.
Another one I found that I really liked, but I found it on Youtube.
And to switch up the genres on ya, I like just about every song from Poor Mans Poison.

Architecture in Helsinki is dead now but they were some of the best weird indie pop the 2000s had to offer

Glass Animals are Br*t*sh so forgive me, but their latest album has some catchy vaporwave influenced Millennial angst stuff it's alright

I really hope we aren't at that point, when it's time to put that on repeat. Still, good background noise.
