Nvidia confirms leaked Geforce Now list is real, but claims games are ‘speculative’
COMPANY CLAIMS DATABASE COTAINING GOD OF WAR PC, GEARS 6 AND MORE WAS USED FOR TESTING

Nvidia has played down a recent datamine that appeared to reveal a number of unannounced games this week, including a Steam version of God of War and Gears 6.

In a blog post and accompanying video posted on Monday, developer Ighor July documented how he was able to access the database for Nvidia’s streaming service.

It included a list of titles, compiled by SteamDB founder Pavel Djundik, featuring unannounced games like Final Fantasy IX Remake, Bioshock RTX Remaster, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Halo 5 PC, Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remasters, Crysis 4, Half-Life 2 Remastered, Injustice 3 and more.

Nvidia has since confirmed that the list is real and claimed that it was used only for internal testing, and that the games listed don’t necessarily exist.

“Nvidia is aware of an unauthorized published game list, with both released and/or speculative titles, used only for internal tracking and testing”, a company spokesperson told Wccftech. “Inclusion on the list is neither confirmation nor an announcement of any game.

“Nvidia took immediate action to remove access to the list. No confidential game builds or personal information were exposed.”

The games listed on the GeForce Now database include:
  • God of War, Returnal and Demon’s Souls for PC
  • GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas remasters
  • Unannounced Xbox projects (via codename)
  • “Fight for Middle-Earth” and “Injustice 3: Gods Will Fall”
  • Human: Fall Flat 2
  • Total War 9
  • Helldivers 2
  • Halo 5: Guardians for PC
  • Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled for PC
  • “BioShock 2022”
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake for PC
  • Bayonetta 3 for PC
  • Crysis 4
  • Kingdom Hearts 4

While much of the list could have been made up of placeholder titles and titles that may not actually see the light of day, VGC first reported last year that the Resident Evil 4 remake has been in development since 2018, while VGC’s sources have also corroborated reports that GTA remasters are in development.

According to Windows Central, many of the Microsoft code names mentioned on the Nvidia database are related to actual projects, some of which have already been announced as real games such as Playground’s Fable reboot.

It also claims that GeForce Now has played a prominent role in game development throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, providing remote access in work-from-home environments, which could explain why work-in-progress titles would be listed on the service.

Unlike most of the titles on the list, God of War is specifically listed for release on Steam. PS5 games Returnal and Demon’s Souls are also on the list, for example, but unlike God of War they are not attributed to a distribution platform.

A PC version of God of War would seem like one of the safer bets, with Sony having recently acquired Nixxes Software to help it bring its games to PC.

The publisher released Horizon Zero Dawn for PC in August 2020 and Days Gone for PC in May 2021. It also announced last week that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and its expansion Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are getting PS5 and PC remasters, and unveiled God of War’s sequel, God of War Ragnarok.

Half-life: Alyx? One of the best reasons to pick up any VR headset?
Absolutely not. VR is a meme for people with too much money for their own good,

It really says something when the best VR games are '10 hour experiences' and not something you can play endlessly, mostly because movement will forever be fucky with half the people who own a headset unable to deal with motion like that.

VR folks will tell you to buy a headset, but it's not for your benefit, it's so enough people have one that would make developers consider making a game for VR in the hopes there's a killer exclusive that makes everything worthwhile. It's like people convincing you that the Wii U isn't dead, it's really good value for money, honest!

Nvidia has had dealings with Nintendo, to the point where they released Nintendo's games on their platforms in China. So although interesting, there's a good chance this was sanctioned by Nintendo
Nintendo also used pirated roms for the Virtual Console, so it wouldn't be surprising that they just took Dolphin and are using it officially.

Bullshit. You can get VR pretty cheap nowadays, especially if you go looking locally.

Also, there are endless VR experiences. Alyx itself has a ton of custom maps, including a full fat remake of a GoldenEye level. And let's not even get into rhythm games with custom levels, along with sandboxes like blade and sorcery.

The Wii U was ass due to Nintendo being lazy. VR hardware and software is the polar opposite, with the Quest 2 being a larger success than the Wii U.

And yet still no sign of a Final Fantasy VII remake.

Also, bitch please; Chrono Break or fuck off. Or better yet, just fuck off, Square. Stop it.
I really wanted a Chrono Cross remaster back in the PS3 days, but now? They'll almost certainly gimp or ditch all the accents that gave the dialog charm, and not fix a single thing that was wrong with that game, which was... phew, a lot.

I really wouldn't be surprised, why put in the work to write your own emulator when someone already did it for free.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 is listed. No Persona 5 Royal. Sorry, Persona kiddies. The Nintendo stuff is probably due to the Switch using an Nvidia chipset.

sounds like you're trying to justify your VR purchase.

Square Enix looks like they’re rereleasing whatever they can from their back catalog, I saw remasters/remakes for:
  • Chrono Cross
  • Final Fantasy Tactics
  • Actraiser
  • Star Ocean: The Last Hope
  • Dragon Quest
  • Dragon Quest X Offline
  • Final Fantasy IX Remake
  • Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
also, Final Fantasy XVI on Windows
Some of those already have pc ports, such as Star Ocean and Type-0 HD.

FF9 Remake is interesting because the one on pc is called final fantasy 9. So if they really are remaking it, wonder if it's due to the new TV show based on it, such as if the show will be rendered on Unreal or another real time engine, so if they remake it as they can reuse assets between the show and any remake they can do, thus cutting down costs.

Demons Souls Remaster/Remake/Reboot/Rewhatever. Okay, cool. I still want to play Bloodborne on PC at 60 FPS.

I don't have VR anymore, had to sadly sell my index to due to financial issues of moving out and financing a vehicle. I didn't regret my purchase though and will get back into VR in the future

The problem with the Index is that it is two years old and has been essentially outclassed by the newer hardware from HTC and Oculus. Yet Steam insists on keeping its price point at over twice what the competitors are asking for.

Not only will I believe a GTA SA remaster when I see it, I'll be concerned they'll fuck it up if it DOES end up being real. Nowadays remasters and remakes have every potential to just rip the soul out of the original and miss what made it so good. Another BioShock game would be good I guess but I've heard Infinite was trash, though I've yet to play it so I'll reserve my opinions. Haven't played Bayo 2 either but I loved 1, hopefully a third would be great.

But again, I'll believe it when I see it.

It is too expensive still, but to say it's outclassed is debatable. The last consumer HTC headset was so bad when it came to inside out tracking, HTC canceled all other consumer headsets to work on enterprise VR headsets. Oculus is pretty good, but you have to get your asshole examined by the Zucc to use it.

Dragon's Dogma 2 being listed on there. So this is obviously fake. Don't give me fucking hope.
Dragons Dogma 2 would make me jizz in my pants.
Theres DragDog Online too, which makes you wonder WHY capcom even decided to kill the online servers on japan, adding some salt to the list.
Crysis 4 too, whoopee i surely wanted to play as fucking prophet again, that insufferable nigger.

VR was always niche, anyone telling otherwise is either a shill or a coping nigger.
even on /v/ of all fucking places people know that is true.

True, I forgot you have to be Zucks bitch to own an Oculus. Personally, that is one of the biggest brights for myself, and would never own one as a result.
