NYT Secure Server Leak

Strange. Then how come the leak hasn't been fixed?
The previously mentioned FTP server has been wiped of all files, only the two root directory folders remain

juicy documents

Everything "really" juicy - like inside sources, contact with whistle-blowers, off the record comments and gossip (which is specifically useful when forming legit avenues of research and questions to ask) would 100% go through a more anon/secure msg service like Telegram and Signal, or come to you in hardcopy.

For example : whenever I contact say, someone in government, I have to use an app like Signal, an encrypted service email or a hard copy of information. It's never long form information like press releases etc.

Not saying that this information isn't informative - it is, but it's just that sadly, the really autistic shit is packaged thusly.

However, these are leftist journalists. They like to use the bird app. A lot of their msg inboxes would be full of "juicy" shit, because they're always autists who can't be bothered to use encrypted shit. Now if someone could get access to that.... :story:

Give it time, if nothing else the past 5 years of security breaches have shown me that Corporate America will always skimp on IT security.

Honeypot.

Hope to god you all had VPNs.
A honeypot for what, autistic /pol/ spergs fishing for pdfs to bolster their Illuminati Satanic Ritual conspiracy on a publicly accessible server? Everything on there is public information, even the Saudi connection to 9-11. We're aware OBL and his AQ was a CIA funded op to get the Soviets and Hillary had a State Dept server chock full of classified and highly sensitive info/documents over the head, which even Obongo logged into using a gay alias.

Their IT staff quit, that's why the NYT server is public and they don't care. I'm just hoping Maureen Dowd might have had too many vodka tonics and uploaded fat Maggie Haberman's bitchy memos to embarrass her. Hopefully one where she claims to have heard Biden call someone nigger.

People keep complaining about biased polls but in reality there's more Democrats than there are Republicans in the US
Is this a bait? 31% of Americans identify as Democrats, 30% identify as Republican.

Some polling companies over sample D’s because they expect higher turnout, which is often (but not always) the case. This is literally why they were all wrong about 2016.

It’s unwise to disregard polling wholesale since aggregates are generally useful, but if you think news outlets don’t cook the books to sell a narrative, then you’re a fucking moron.

This is why I love election years, there always is the best intelligence that get's leaked from some disgruntled IT. Just shifting through some of this stuff and I can say that this dump is going to have some fucking massive implications. I can believe they set their log in credentials as "test," because every one of these leaks has a tendency to have the laziest passwords to memorize.

Doesn't matter what gets leaked, especially if it's the media getting leaked, since the media will just memory-hole it. The answer to the question "If a tree falls in a forest and no one's there to hear it, does it make a sound" is 'No'.

Am I missing something? why would they cook the books in their own internal docs?

and do you really think theyre gunna make the same mistake twice? they know they fucked up last election, if anything theyll over correct the other way.

1) polls are not done to portray public opinion, but to shape it.

2) yes. Have you been living under a rock in a different country for the past 5 years? They have continued and doubled down on every mistake the made in '16 again now.

You are posting in a thread has leaks from the NYTs internal documents stating how they are going to shape public opinion to influence an election. They are working with Team Biden and reporters aren't allowed to criticize Biden. Can you honestly not extrapolate a little and see theres a possibility they would over sample?

Holyshit the founders were right. Not everyone deserves to vote.

I don't know what to make of this. In the 14 hours since the pol post started there's not been one article that I've been able to find talking about this nor can I find a single statement from NYT.

Are these media companies,
A.) All incompetent?
B.) All sticking their heads in the sand and hoping this doesn't get noticed?
C.) All sitting around because they know this is fake and attempting the biggest gay op of them all?

As someone stated earlier, this is an internal leak and there is no way another major outlet is gonna crow about it for fears it could lead to retaliation . The papers have been in bed with each other since the Pentagon Papers leak last century and there is no way they will break their pact over this.

This is great info! However, information is useless when noone takes action, this info could infact be used for a greater good, but nothing has or will be done with it. I'm sorry but i'm not convinced this information has done anything but cause a circlejerk on pol, sure theres potential but how many people are going to post these things on their social media to spread the truth of it all?

This is great info!

Not really.

Some of it is quite interesting, and the fact it happened is very embarrassing for the paper, but overall most of it seems to be official documents used as source material and background for stories, thus mostly already talked about publicly. A few exceptions, but so far nothing actually groundbreaking has been uncovered. Though it is still funny that this kind of IT shenanigans can occur with such a corporation.
