I said this at one point, all this outrage over the shit Trump has done makes me almost sympathize with him and his followers. Seriously, this law hasn't even passed Senate yet.

Earlier in the thread there was a person saying something like "Don't talk to me about bipartisanship ever again."

My one response, nigga, you being and encouraging other people to become hyperpartisan is what directly lead to this shit happening. If anybody is to blame for any deaths, it's your attitude.

That was Mark Harris, who's a good film historian and a terrible everything else. As a film nerd, let's just say reading his feed makes me lose a lot of respect for him.
 
Quite frankly, (and I don't give a shit if I get negged for this), we're long overdue for single-payer. We're almost the only industrialized national that doesn't have it, and our healthcare system is a mess. Medicare is probably one of the most successful and popular government programs.
Anybody I've talked to living outside the US is satisfied with it -- yes, there are issues, but no more so than with Medicare. Anything's better than what we have now.


(And don't even get me started on "pre-existing conditions". ANYTHING can be a pre-existing condition nowadays. Fuckers)
