Going to be honest, this is a good thing. Jay really does need a social life of any kind outside of the internet, maybe it might finally knock his damn ego down a zillion pegs and he understands how to be human for once.
 
This new update makes me wonder if Jay will continue his comics. Odds are he'll find a way to work on them, but from what it sounds like, it seems he'll be more busy with work than anything else since it is getting closer to the holiday season. Plus he's gotta play that vidya.

Even though he is excited right now for having his job, and is glad to be where he is at in life, I'm sure he'll complain about it being too busy somehow.
 
Except he hasn't been offline. He's been invisible while on some of his sites.

He probably will retreat more to single-player games though. The jump from staying in his room all day to a job where he has to deal with even just a few people is still a large contrast so it's understandable if he wants to retreat further into his comfort zone when he has time. I think we'll still see DA updates though. Probably just to reaffirm how much he enjoys not being online... when in actuality he is.
 
Doesn't he have an old journal about leaving the internet forever where he says something to the effect of "my messages will pile up I'm sure." I am reminded of that with "maybe it hasn't been long enough to make an impact."

It would be good for Jay if he just never used the internet again. But his break wont last forever. It is only a matter of time before some kind of work trouble arises. He has a low threshold for frustration and DA is his only outlet outside of modding a video game to play God.

I'm sure we will be getting another update really soon in the future, around this weekend since he is doing his panel at the convention
 
Is GK trying to remove the haters by basically abolishing his recognition of the concept of criticism and that now that he is a "professional" he merely only cares about feedback?

I can't imagine that philosophy is going to go over well should he get a performance review and it just lists off bad things without telling him how to improve.
 
So, Jay's been there for what, less than a week? And he's already "reading resources about becoming a manager [incorrect semicolon] stuff made by Harvard"? I'm sure he has completely realistic expectations for how long the process will take, and how much effort will be involved in reaching that career position.

For a place like Geek Squad or other retail places, usually all you have to do to make manager is 1 survive a couple years, 2 kiss the right asses and 3 throw your coworkers under the bus once you've got enough dirt on them.
In other words, he has no chance in hell because I doubt he could make it to step 1.
 
I wanted to post this in Jay's job journal. This is a quote from Jace in response to ISIS hacks and viruses on computers. A member of his forums had a virus protection program and everyone said it was hacks.

"If anyone here was actually retarded enough to run an .exe file from the most troll-infested part of the forums, while in a thread about viruses infecting our computers (I doubt anyone actually did this) you need to quarantine your computer and proabbly call geek squad or some shit."

Jay confirmed for ISIS virus protection agent.
