I can't overstate how backwards it is that these people cannot understand the purpose of the electoral college....

It's not hard to understand. I understood it perfectly in my teens, so I'm assuming these idiots just refuse to admit in public that they believe city slickers should decide every election for the rest of the country.

Fuck the fly over states. Urban Americans are so much smarter than us country bumpkins.

It's pretty easy to understand why, Americans are bombarded with "DEMOCRACY GOOD" memes for pretty much their entire lives, both on the left and the right.

I can't tell you how much I hate democracy now. What was suppose to be a system to ensure the will of the people was done has turned into the powers just trying to engineer the people's will Politics has destroyed a whole generation of upper class professionals, literally over the fact a Sharper Image steak knives salesman is rude and damaged the egos of some people. At least the Civil War had the flashpoint issue of slavery.

I never want to see another "GET OUT DA VOTE" ad or propaganda ever again.
