It doesn’t appear any of them are bothering to do any real investigative work or even bother asking anything regarding what is going on with the allegations and instead are paying more attention to hot takes on twitter. Strangest thing to come out of all this is how much people blindly believe reporting like that.

Even if you think all the allegations are false it's stupid to not even mention what they are so they could get debunked.

Every election has fraud the difference is was the fraud enough to turn the tables and change the outcome, this type of situation usually occurs in very close races. That’s the thing- any reputable investigative reporter would take that statement, and then start digging around it and collecting primary/secondary information to compare against their word. Essentially information forensics to reconstruct the events and to see if the statement’s true or not.

It seems that that task has nowadays fallen onto civilians to do, with mainstream media instead hermetically relying on ‘fact-checkers’ and other laundered media sources- aka a big circlejerk based around reinforcing/attacking narratives.

I think you can think that elections are honest and true and still think that some voter fraud and human error in counting takes place. The two statements aren't antithetical to each other. Reason being that the low-scale vote stealing in ones and twos happen from partisans on both sides so tend to balance out. Genuine human error gets found out in recounts that happen when it's close enough to matter. Has there been individual races won by so few votes that fraud could have made a difference? Sure if the election is very close than it's possible the wrong person might be elected but if it's that close then every single ballot is checked, double checked, audited, verified and recounted with court cases to make rulings on individual votes. That's my definition of a free and fair election, one where the people running the election have done everything they can to ensure the winner is the candidate with the most votes.
