Arguable, sure. But they're far and away the worst of the great apes. Also, loving or being highly amused by chimps is a good litmus test for someone likely being a hopeless mid-wit. Turd-Flinging-Monkey is a good example.

Humans are the only apes killing other primates to steal their infants, torturing them, and recording it for other humans to get off to. They're the worst primates by far and arguably the worst animals.

Humans are also the reason almost half of all primate species are in danger of extinction, including all other great apes.

I don't blame anyone for being wary over chimps, at least. I'd kind of argue they're the most unpredictable and brutal of the great apes. Something about them just fascinates me, personally. Feels like with every tragic incident like Travis the chimp, there's equally positive instances like with Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest.
