Bingo. Surrogacy, like prostitution, nulls a woman's personhood to its purchased function. It's using a woman's fundamental self, her sex, and commodifying it for the (male-driven) market. When I say "fundamental self," I mean the basic biological sex that differentiates us from males. Surrogacy and prostitution objectify (rob women of subjectivity) and commodify (i.e. makes them a marketable, sellable, purchasable product) women. Gestational surrogacy (using donated eggs and sperms to conceive and implant into the uterus through IVF) objectifies the woman as a genetic copy machine. Traditional surrogacy (in which a woman and a coupled man conceive, and she carries to term a child for the couple) takes the nullification a step further by using the woman's DNA and body to create a child, who is also a (re)product(ion) in this scenario, and stripping her of personhood as the child's mother. The child is both product and reproduction of the woman, but she is not subject in this scenario--merely the reproducing object. This isn't to say that women can only achieve personhood through motherhood, but I'm pointing specifically here to the act of making someone a mother without making them a mother. Maternity minus mater.
You are absolutely not alone in this. I see ads like this all the time on college campuses. It's very predatory. They target women who have just exited their teens and are financially struggling/in debt from school. They try to sugarcoat a very intense and invasive procedure that involves series of hormone injections, surgery with general anesthesia, and risks like infection and ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome. Long-term risks, like cancer or fertility issues, are not well understood because very little to no research is being done. Commodifying parts of women's bodies and reproduction is just wrong overall. I also don't think it's good for people to be essentially having children that they never know or are involved with. It's not fair to kids to be born into that situation. Egg freezing has the aforementioned health risks along with women being fearmongered and sold lies so that they will spend an outrageous amount of money with a bad chance of payout.
