It's interesting how men try to start moral panics over women doing things that give them more freedom or are enjoyable, but never them being bangmaids and having kids (even though giving birth can straight up kill you).

Victorian women as well - there were quite a few books written by women designed to educate young ladies about the dangers of novel reading and the necessity of becoming a pious wife and mother. This really got its start in the late 18th century, as more girls went to school for longer periods of time and emerged with dangerous ideas about politics and religion. Some even wanted to vote, go to college, and become ministers! That couldn‘t be allowed to happen.

During the early 19th century into the Victorian era is really when the female body and bodily functions such as pregnancy and menstruation become medicalized and hysteria becomes a catch-all diagnosis for generalized unhappiness. The tweets about horses are very reminiscent of the rhetoric around women’s activity and exercise. Horse-riding was an essential skill for many young women, but it could also be a freeing activity that women could do alone, so, naturally, it had to be regulated so that women couldn’t enjoy it too much. Horse-riding and hunting were activities for unmarried women; married women were expected to give those hobbies up. It was believed that exercise was bad for women (this shows up in Jane Austen novels constantly, as she was an advocate for women’s exercise), and so women were encouraged to literally sit around as much as possible unless they were poor. When the bicycle came along, there was a lot of talk about how the bumping of the bicycle could damage a woman’s uterus, or that high speeds, such as those that occurred in train travel, could cause a woman’s uterus to fly out of her mouth! Some believe Queen Victoria rode trains a lot to help prove this belief was false. I mean, this kind of talk is hundreds of years old and has been debunked a hundred more times, but some moid obviously thought he was brilliant when he made these tweets.

I've already seen moids who are frothing at the mouth for the Epstein list turn around and defend Andrew Tate. Even though Tate did pretty much the same thing and his youngest known victims are only a years older than Epsteins (15 and 14 respectively).

They want the Epstein list because the think it'll be nothing but liberals they personally dislike (instead of powerful sick fucks from all ends of the political spectrum). So the past few days I've been killing time by browsing black twitter, got onto the topic of working out and "African genetics" cos there's a bunch of jacked bodybuilders over in Africa. One look at these guys and it's insanely obvious that they're juicing, but they deny it, saying they're too poor to avoid supplements and gym memberships. I don't really care about steroids use normally, your body your rules, but I don't particularly like liars, especially self-proclaimed fitness gurus who lies about their substance use to scam people. However, there are a lot of black men who claim that it is natural and that African genetics are just superior and lend themselves to roid physiques naturally, and that by simply eating natural food and working hard labour any black man can achieve a bodybuilder look. What leads to this insecurity? Genuinely perplexing, I don't think any other demographic has this level of delusion about their genetics

I don't know perhaps if they stop doing the meme, where you completely undervalue what a woman can do for a child because "it's what women are supposed to do" while applauding a man for doing the bare minimum for it, maybe women will just be more encouraged to start families or act on their nurturing nature. Honestly, it makes me wonder if women's movements that empathized on how painful and lethal childbirth didn't exist, how long would it take men to go "Hey wait a minute, women from dying from something like this is fucked up and shouldn't be happening" or would they even think about that, given that most men from the past thought it was just part of normal life for a woman to die usually young giving birth to their child and then remarrying (with usually repeating the cycle).

It’s one of my personal pet peeves, as the stuff saying “women over 30 are empty egg cartons,” is just plain wrong most of the time. It also just makes light of fertility struggles some women have, and fertility issues can happen to very young women as well. I have an aunt that didn’t have kids until age 30, and she went on to have four kids of her own.

Though, moids will be so attached to youthfulness that it’s creepy. Such as the ones that say all women past age 21 “hit the wall.” They also clearly haven’t read up on statistics that women that give birth at extremely young ages, such as 18, can face more complications than a woman giving birth at 25. When you learn it’s mostly about themselves getting hard and not women’s likelihood of a successful birth, it makes more sense.
