It’s really disturbing. I think the uk is now starting to realise this. There’s a famous case from the nineties where two men were involved in serious BDSM and the judge ruled that nobody can consent to ABH (actual bodily harm.) they even outlined the perceived objections like tattooing etc.

Yet there have been dozens of cases where a man got a light sentence using this defense. It’s really worrying. There was supposed to be an American the domestic violence act in 2021 that closed this loophole but honestly, it’s still being used. And the reason is because people are seeing such rough sex as normalised.
Now I don’t really care what consenting adults do in their own homes, beat each other senseless with barbed wire if that’s truly what both of you want, but the movement of such rough sex from a scandalous and private and shameful act to mainstream and in the media is a very bad thing.

I don’t get how a man would want to do these sorts of activities that might result in his partner’s death. If I was in love with a woman and she asked me to do something like choke her, my heart would break because I would be so upset that she would think that my opinion of her is that low.
