There's a difference between trying to present male points/issues through female lens and doing PR management for dudes if given an opportunity and power would spit in your face, fire you from your workplace because "women belong where the hearth is", force you and your children to solely rely on your husband. Just because you didn't have an issue dealing with men during your lifetime, doesn't mean it's cakewalk for other women.

Everything from moids refusing to see the word of Jesus to them refusing to see our IQs are not that lower was in there. Her blog was deleted in 2021 - and I very much miss her.

Bella Swan is basically James Bond for teen girls i.e. a Mary Sue in a wish fulfillment story. She's not a great character but there are plenty of male characters just as bad and worse that mysteriously don't get the same hate or people thinking they represent all characters of that gender.

Having read the Hunger Games when it came out, Katniss is a far better character than Bella Swan despite both of them being the main love interest/fantasy of the author. Katniss is willing to throw aside her life to protect her sister, and then blows it all up - literally - when she joins a terrorist movement. Katniss was at least enjoyable. Bella Swan had no redeeming issues; I have read actual reader insert fics where the character has far more depth and interest.

I didn't call Ripley flat. I really don't even dislike her. I just don't understand why people act like she's this masterclass study in how to write a female character (at least in the first film). Not sure about her protective instincts as she ditches the cat at one point (IIRC). Although you have made me want to see Aliens. I have a theory that Ripley bringing the cat along was a literal Save the Cat move to keep her sympathetic to the audience giver her kinda cold behavior through the movie up to that point, although this plot beat is unconventionally put at the end of the story rather than the beginning.

I disagree. Having watched both movies - third and fourth is Whedon bullshit - Ripley definitely stands out in a time when women, especially in action flicks, were relegated to the sidelines. When the first movie came out, she was in a time where most female characters were either love interests or raped. Alien is a curious case as the film itself is based on rape/unwanted penetration, and IIRC the director and screenwriters decided to flip the script and make the male cast suffer the alien rape vs Ripley.

The second movie highlights her maternal instincts, especially when she fights off the xenomorph queen.

To be real with you, you quite often bring the conversation about abortion and Churches/Tradsphere being shit into threads where there's zero relation between these topics which results in slapfights and derailment of the thread, which can get really frustrating, especially when you already have threads where you can debate others on those topics as much as you want.

Even if you stay in those threads, and bring the issue up nowhere else, you will be tagged by random moids in threads you either don't visit or would have had a different opinion on. Literal 50 year old moids will get so assmad over a different opinion - while admitting they don't care about religion, or sources, or anything really - they will follow you elsewhere and try to farm those updoots even on topics you would agree with. It's crazy how men that old having such a lack of maturity. This individual also admitted to being a porn addict, so of course their views on morality should fit.

I think it is also when they were introduced to internet porn, if they're in their late 20s/30s, and also that time period did have a lot of women wearing the playboy bunny logo as 'cool' and playing up to the blonde bimbo stereotype. I'm surprised I haven't seen it on more troons, it seemed like there was going to be a revival of it with the Y2K trend.

I do see the bimbo aspect with troons like Blaire White, Rose Montoya, and Gigi Gorgeous, but I think a big reason why it’s not as common is because it takes more money to achieve the aesthetic. The troons I listed all have had extensive face work done, in addition to things like Brazilian butt lifts and breast implants. It also goes along with expensive hair care, regular nail appointments, and other grooming aspects many troons will overlook.

The most common aesthetics I see troons gravitate towards are the e-girl, scene, and goth. This also tracks because troons in their mid twenties to mid thirties grew up with scene and goth. E-girl is newer, but Keffals definitely falls into that category, and tries to compete with other boob streamers. These aesthetics don’t require as much upkeep, and the clothes associated with it are generally cheaper (think Hot Topic and Spencers). These brands also have generous sizing, which means it’s easier to buy the twirly skirts and thigh high socks compared to the typically boutique or designer clothes of the bimbo aesthetic. Aside from that, the e-girl, scene, and goth aesthetics are most likely based on the types of women the troons have crushes on, or got off to most with porn.

This is apropos of nothing but I wanted to throw my two cents in.

I'm incredibly lucky because I've been surrounded by amazing men in my life. The men from both sides of my family are top notch and growing up with such amazing examples of what a good man (not guy, not boy, man) looks like allowed me to learn how to immediately spot a shit man from a wonderful one. More importantly, they (together with my amazing mother who also has many wonderful brothers) have shown me that just because I'm a woman it doesn't mean that I have to take shit from anybody. That I can and should stand up for myself and for other people.

However, the vast majority of men over here are complete, utter scumbags. I can count on one hand the number of girl friends who grew up with a good male role model or who had positive experiences with men.

I know women who have been raped by strangers, by their brother, by their father, by a family member, by a colleague, by a friend. I know women who were stalked, who were victim of domestic abuse, of psychological abuse, of verbal abuse, of sexual abuse, of physical abuse.

I know women who were victim of revenge porn, who were so psychologically destroyed by their boyfriends that they developed eating disorders. I know women who were sexually assaulted as children by a close member of their families and when they finally told their mother what had happened to them, the mother refused to believe them. Guess what, their mother was a victim of child sexual assault, too.

I know women who will not be taken seriously at their place of work because their breasts are too big, because they are too fat, because they are too beautiful, they're too ugly, they aren't thin enough, because they aren't fuckable enough or because they're too fuckable. Women who probably won't have the stellar career they deserve because they happen to be women. And I could go on and on and on.

On one hand I love men, I really do. Knowing and loving good, upstanding men is one of my life's joy, truly, and I wish all women were as lucky as I am. But many men, too many of them, need to be burned alive at the bare minimum for what they put women through. Some things are unforgivable and I hope for the future of all women that men step up to the plate and stop being such cunts.

But on the subject in norway they do the point system like your grades plus what ever equvalent of SATs no buts or ifs the only time any gender gets extra points are like branches that are certifiable 80% plus one gender imbalance for example men get puny 2 extra points if they go in nursing and women in some Stem branches like programming or structural engineering gets extra 2 points thats out of 60 points. Guess how is gender minority balance ? Men are 30-40% of the college students men mostly go in trades because they gonna make similar money if they go in demand trades . And honestly usa needs to get that similar system , anything else just ruins the faith of the system.
