People tend to not realize how strong and tight-knit these communities are. China's ban on monetizing depictions of homosexual relationships is rarely enforced in places like Hangzhou, which is basically Chengdu (gay capital) but for women. They're some of the sweetest and most welcoming people, too.
Taipei's community is much looser since it's not quite as frowned upon in Taiwan, but it's still nowhere near as fractured as the mess we have in the US.
Dressing more masculine and being athletic or even muscular is generally accepted in both, which is a huge plus.

I hope they stay safe and that they continue to love each other for a long time.
