Yes I agree with you that men can never be all perfect, 100% crime-free, that's utopic thinking. What i mean is that culture can make a difference : check this link out. When I was a teenager we did one of those self-defense courses. The guy was basically just showing as some basic kicks and punches. I remember thinking: 'Yeah, no way I stand a chance if I get attacked.' So I asked him about using weapons (I think the scenario we discussed was a break in). He said using a knife is a bad idea because the attacker could take it from me and use it against me. But kicking the guy who breaks into my house in the groin is somehow better? As if that won't piss him off? How the fuck does a man who teaches self-defense to women not understand that my only chance of not getting killed is having something else besides my bare hands. A knife might not raise my chances by much but it absolutely raises them. Anyway if a self-defense course for women doesn't involve the mention of guns or stuff like pepper spray it's a scam.
