Anyway, while venerating Mary is based, the way Catholics treat living women is not. Catholics are obsessed with BC and controlling women’s sexuality, they started the Madonna/whore complex. They also refuse to ordain women for anything except monastic holy orders, so the women have little voice in church leadership. And finally because the Catholics don’t let their priests get married, Catholic priesthood attracted loads of gay men and pedo men; and being in the seminary was a good reason for them to not fake interest in women.
That's what I thought and what turned me off about organized religion for awhile. Like they expect fidelity from me, but he can just do whatever, fuck that noise. I recently converted to Catholicism and here is why/what I found out that really changed my mind. During my discernment I finally had some people going through the Bible with me who actually knew what they were talking about. What Jesus said about marriage was that it was for life. When the Pharisees told him that well Moses allowed divorce, what do you mean? Jesus said it was because you all were a bunch the worst kinds of scrotes you just would make your wives disappear, so Moses allowed it so you would stop killing your wives because you are bunch of evil and wicked moid faggots who will have to answer to my Father for it on the Day of Judgement. Hmm, that's interesting. So then there were some other verses aimed squarely at men about how them cheating on their wives was strictly forbidden. Even thinking about another woman a bit more than you should that wasn't your wife was already adultery.
Chasity is highly praised in the Catholic Church for women AND men. Part of the reason there is such a devotion to St. Joseph is because we believe he never had sex again after being told to marry Mary with her or anyone else. We believe he led a fully chaste life because he was wholly devoted to the Lord and to respecting the Theotokos. So men try to model their lives off his example, especially turning to him in cases of coomerism. Yes, men are expected to save their virginity for their wives as much as women are expected to do the same.
The Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church does not allow priests to marry. They do allow it for deacons, but I think they already have to be married when called and aren't allowed to remarry if their wives die. The Byzantine Rite of the Roman Catholic Church does allow married priests with the same stipulations on them as for Latin Rite Deacons. This is the same in Eastern Orthodoxy. In all cases though, you have to be unmarried to be a bishop or move up higher in the Church.
As for abortion and birth control, my reasons are huge PL I absolutely won't go into, but I agreed with the Church about it from the outset and this isn't a thread about it. Regardless, if neither sex has access to birth control or abortion, it can't be argued that one is oppressing the other. I mean, I am sure some men are not happy with the thought of having to provide for 9838273982 possible children especially now when you can't claim she is just a whore and run off (the oppression of paternity testing, lol), but I have met some infertile Catholic couples too who desperately wanted them. God's will be done.
The Church sees men and women equal in the eyes of God and on Earth. Both have their separate jobs to do, neither is better than the other. None of that stuff really matters anyway if you are both focused on attaining the Kingdom of Heaven. You will do the right things anyway as Jesus taught.
For DV, it is basically said that hitting your wife is hitting Me. Don't do it. The Church will grant divorces in these cases.
Paul had some thoughts on women that were somewhat discarded by the Church as those were his opinions and couldn't be traced back to what Jesus directly said anywhere. That is why although Paul said women should veil in Church because angels were horny or something, the Church ultimately decided to make it optional because it couldn't really be backed up by what Jesus said or anything like that.
I couldn't be Anglican or some offshoot of it because I am disgusted with the whole reason that branch of Christianity exists in the first place. Remember, it was the Catholic Church that told him to suck it up and divorce wasn't allowed in those cases even for the fucking King of England. He threw a fit like the spoiled faggot moid he was and created the Anglican Church. Thanks, but nah.
