Trivia: The last time we had a draft in the US, a friend of mine's dad managed to dodge the draft by regularly sending meaningless "updates" to his draft file. Since this was the 70s, some poor sod had to go find Mr. Johnson's file and pull it from the stack to incorporate his new passport photo or whatever. During that process the file wasn't available to be selected... so he got 4-6 weeks reprieve every time he did that.

In all seriousness, it's really a regrettable situation.
