Men often say "we used to marry and breed with 14 year olds" but everything I've read said that was always an extremely young age to be married and reserved more for aristocracy/super arranged marriages. before industrialization average age of first period was often like 17, and women didn't get married/have children before then. obviously depends on time and place but it was never normal for adult men to marry 14 year olds. Why would a woman get married off to a shitty, low status, no money and no income having moid? I think even back then they were aware that having a 14 year old carry a child was more likely to result in her death. Elite classes are a little different, but your average person? Probably not getting married off that young.
