I’m glad you can see it. Many men who claim to be hip to feminism and liberal politics show their true colors if the feminists dare to reproach their porn habits. The best compromise 3rd wave “choice feminism” can offer involves “ethical porn” sometimes created by women, but still very much is made for the consumption and stimulation of men. It is like “ethical foie gras”, with the chefs insisting to the diners that the goose consented to being gavaged into liver failure in the weeks before slaughtering.

I used to think that oh, that was in the 1970’s, porn has become much less sexist than that, that belief was a rationalization to cope with the fact that most of my liberal male friends still thought porn was great and that cool girls were all okay with porn, and voicing any skepticism of this liberal tenet to “sexual freedom” was a good way to get yourself ostracized.
Nowadays I think porn is arguably even worse than it was in the 70’s or the 2010’s. Now we have this glut of T-porn, where men act out their porn-addled conception of being women in front of other men. You’d think that could be better, so long as actual live women needn’t be directly involved, but I notice a trickle-down effect. Because the men are consuming this stuff on the regular, their expectations of their real sex partners are distorted by the porn. So now it’s a sex script written, acted out, and consumed entirely by men, to the degradation of women.
Dworkin described pornography as recorded evidence of sexual violence and exploitation. She also said that expecting women to like porn in order to please men was like expecting Jews to enjoy Holocaust re-enactments in order to please neo-Nazis. I can’t disagree.
