Well, I have a very coincidental story to share from this morning.
I went out for a walk to grab some milk from the store down the street. As I was walking back, I started hearing a man screaming call the police. The yelling was very effeminate but my gaydar peaked and I figured this was a gay man yelling for help. I did not immediately react because I couldn't see him or any threat and figured someone closer would help. But he continued and when I got to the corner, I saw him standing on a porch of a house with the door slightly ajar still yelling to call the police. So I yelled out to him what's going on, what's your name etc to attempt to assess any information I might be able to give to the cops besides a random man screaming as where I live, that's extremely common. I think that's a very important piece to this as I live in a ghetto. He said he was being held hostage then brushed me off and continued to yell call the police. A second woman came in a robe and again asked what his address was, a name etc but he brushed her off too. Then suddenly a booming voice came from no where asking what's the emergency and the man immediately stopped yelling. By this point, both me and the other woman were walking away and I didn't hear any further exchange.
Through the gossip line, I found out this was a gay neighbour who, known to the couple, was trying to alert his neighbours next door to call the police because he perceived he was being cyber hacked online.
It was a brief exchange but it was not until this delusional gay man heard another man's voice was he willing to break his delusion for even a moment to understand what he was actively doing. He did not care about the women that approached to help that he could see. It was the big booming authoritative voice of God that slapped reality on to him.
Also I fucking hate where I live, but that's for another thread.
