There's been an uptick in posts across local social media about aggressive men in public. You used to see maybe every few months a post by a "naive" woman who wasn't quite sure what to do about a "weird encounter" on the subway or bus but it honestly didn't seem that common. Of course, it happens, but it just didn't seem like perverts were taking the bus everyday.
Now, I see posts every week talking about strange men or men that outright sexually harassed someone, followed them or even tried to get them into a car. The other day, a female I know who has always been extremely bossbabe almost butch personality who seems to laugh men off with a wave, came to me to tell me of a man who sexually harassed her and followed her until she walked into a bank. I was very unsettled by this not because the man followed her, but because SHE was made so uncomfortable that she had to tell the person she knows hates men (a safe space). If even this woman, who is normally very asexual in her behaviors, head held high, no makeup in her corporate job - if even she has suddenly become hyper aware of the shift in tides that she could not just brush it off but need to share it to feel safe. She even has a husband already, which seemed to give her some wall of protection in the past but not anymore.
It's just starting to feel more unsafe and no one even took away our abortion rights in our country. There is not the same inherent desire of control of women from a government level (minus the trans issue but I don't think moids are suddenly more aggressive because some of them pretended to be women, but it might be a symptom of their larger problem). It's just this vibe. It's just a really bad vibe even when I take my own personal feelings or experiences out of it, it's pretty hard to ignore the growing circumstantial evidence that something is inherently going wrong on a mass scale.
