I'd say at least in East Asia, people have this obsession too.
But it's not like IRL someone shorter would correctly guess if someone remarkably taller than them is those 183/6ft, or a bit less. People in general aren't that good in guessing height exactly, as people vary in shape.

I think I'm still feeling a little put off after finding out about how bad the orgasm gap is.
