Been doing some research into how bad Asia really is for women since I have followed more korean feminists on Twitter and found this article that really shocked me. I knew about all the sexual harassment women face in Japan especially but you always think about these countries as more safe than the US for example.

Femicide cases are higher in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea than in FUCKING INDIA. Could be that they don't report it as much in India? I don't know but that is NUTS.

1 in 3 married women in Japan experience domestic violence (in the US it is 1 in 4 I believe).
Despite being some of the safest countries in the world when it comes to overall homicide statistics, they are some of the worst if you are a woman. Strongly recommend reading the entire article.
