Semi related, this isn't directed at any man in particular since I only see female doctors but I am exhausted. I have been awake for 45+ hours due to some medical issues I don't want to get into. I mean, I can sort of see why she'd be tempted to say that though. The Internet age didn't exactly kick off the misogyny wave, but it did allow misogyny to spread in new ways in the absence of methods that existed before. It's like with porn: yes, "porn" by some definition of the word has always existed, but it was never as readily available as it is now, in such perfect anonymity and with no shame attached to it at all (due to social normalization), and also in such variety--the most extreme shit imaginable is front-page content now. Men who lived in the time between the Human Sacrifice/Witch Burning Era and today (the 18th and 19th centuries, I guess?) in many cultures at least still pretended to reserve some respect for women.
