Instead of working on themselves (like they tell women they find physically unattractive to do), males just find shitty, violent workarounds to get sex from unwilling females.

I didn't know that about Frazetta, but a heart breaking one for me was Bill Ward. I loved the way he shaded clothing in his art to give it a shiny effect, but going through an old archive of his work I found out he was into some weird gay/bdsm/pregnancy/troon shit, it started off with just cheeky pinups, then the boobs on the women got bigger, the areolas got bigger, the stomachs got bigger, the dicks on the men got bigger, until he was just drawing trannys. I don't know if any exist. Faggots maybe, but they'll just shove the fetish shit onto men, and ignore women entirely, not that I care. Even comic book artists I like suffer from this problem, or at the very least, suffer from the problem of eternal sameface for women. If they decide to branch out from the sameface, it's so they can draw "old stooped over gross crone" or "big fat gross landwhale".

Back in the 90s, there was a comic called Strangers in Paradise, that gained a pretty big female following, including a lesbian one. Terry Moore, the writer/artist, was praised for drawing "realistic" women, especially by the standards of the time. But even he felt the need to draw his female characters topless on occasion. Naturally, if he included sex (admittedly not graphic) in his comic, he'd lament that it was soooo awful that in big bad America you could draw violence, but people didn't like sex. This is one of the specific reasons I would like to see more women-only hobby spaces, women-only fandom spaces, and women-only "traditionally-male nerd thing" spaces. The other ones are:

• Certain products that were once marketed to women that garnered female-dominated communities are now marketed to a vaguely-defined pool of women, troons, and genderspecials. (Nerdy women's spaces either get overrun by troons (also see the moe discussion a few pages ago) or pooners/"nonbinary" women.) There are also ripple effects from this: much of the tabletop roleplaying game scene has divided along culture war lines, so there's a side of "men who openly want male-only tables", a side of "genderspecials and their handmaids who want perfectly inclusive tables", and vanishingly few normies.
• I, frankly, am tired of women being blamed for the degradation of gaming hobbies "because games got worse when the companies started pursuing the female and LGBT market." I didn't ask for trannies to pretend they represent women, I didn't ask to be represented by Tumblr, and I would rather have media made to garner a female-dominated fandom than watered-down versions of media I wasn't big on anyway. (Example: D&D's fifth edition introduced a sloppy mechanic designed to support character story arcs in a bid to expand market, I notice that it's more of a prayer than any form of rules support for character-driven play, and I continue enjoying my collaborative fanfic-type games and not spending a cent on D&D.) In particular, I do not want to share a table with people who think I am ruining their hobby just because publishers ask (badly) for my money.
• I've really enjoyed the time I've spent in my female-only no-genderspecials game group. I feel more relaxed around them, and I find it easier to talk to them. Less worried about accidentally making someone mad. I can't speak to how my players feel (two out of three are new to the tabletop hobby and therefore cannot compare it to previous time with mixed groups), but we laugh a lot during sessions. The only time I've felt this free in a mixed group is when I'd known the people involved for years. If someone tells you there's a Certain Energy in female-only hobby groups, believe them. It's nice.

The way it is now... I hate it. "Nerdy women's spaces" were not always like this. I want to go back to 2009 and the Sailor Moon forums that were 95% women and 5% men who knew how to act, and the phpBB boards people would set up for their forum RPs, and when it was actually newsworthy (not Just Another Tuesday) when someone published gross degenerate badfic... good times.

Sounds like men are just terrible at judging the characters of women they're interested in. They need nice women to protect them and point out their girlfriends' red flags. But they persist in friendzoning every nice girl who tries, because they're only attracted to women who love divorce. They are ultimately to blame for the existence of divorce, because they reproduce with women who are biologically predisposed to divorce men.

All jokes aside, I think most men whose wives divorce them actually are blindsided by it. They're completely ignorant of their wives' unhappiness and their own failures as husbands, so to them it really does seem as if everything was fine until one day she got the harebrained idea to file for divorce. If they weren't so checked out and actually cared about the wellbeing of the women they marry, it wouldn't come as a surprise.
