I gotta ask and I felt this thread is more appropriate, because I'm a stupid man with autistpenis4brain. Why do most people, but anecdotally it seems women moreso, care so much about anniversaries, birthdays etc. ie the scheduled times for festivities? (excluding knowing it for bureaucratic reasons ofc. that just makes sense)

I don't celebrate my own birthday or really "get" anniversaries. I was raised in an environment where people mostly celebrate spontaneously when it's pleasant and convenient.
"The weather's good, let's cook something awesome, grab a blanket, go outside and celebrate that we're alive and a family" and gifts were mostly related to real interests and needs when they came up, rather than set dates.
I've kept it this way well into adulthood.
In recent times:
A friend of mine wanted to get back into playing electronic guitar. So I got a decent Les Paul and an amp sim, told him to keep it if he used it or give it back in a year if not.
My ex likes macro, so I built her a macro lens.
My main squeeze came over so I baked an apple pie. 'Cause it's summer. And we're alive.

In my circle I often notice stuff like "She said she needed X so I'm getting her X for her birthday next month" or "Y's birthday is coming up and idk what to give him/her" or "Man we're gonna have to plan for insert date and it's so stressful at that time due to work"
In the first case it just wastes time, in the second it forces what will probably be a useless purchase and in the third it means that you're stressed over having to celebrate. I don't get why this is a thing. Why not just make cake regularly, break out the wine because life is short, give gifts because you know they'll be useful and bring joy - at ANY time.

In short: Why adhere to a fucking calender of all things, like you have to schedule interpersonal gestures of appreciation, as if you need a set date to force yourself to celebrate. Let me just check my schedule and see when my next merriment is due - Ah, I see the 15th is (in)convenient.

What a fucking depressing way to go about it.

I don't think it's possible to explain to an autistic man that other people experience the world differently and care about different things and you should have empathy for them and take their feelings into consideration instead of acting like a selfish prick. It's just something you will never understand.

70% of autistic men are single btw. I wonder why that is.

I have all but like 10 pages of this thread and everyone in it deserves each other, and while that may condemn me to a similar fate for posting here, its a fate I'm willing to accept.

Shoutout to @Matt Damon and the other legends making shitty puns a few posts back. Absolute highlight of the thread tbh.

I mean I empathize. Up until I quit following Political shit in the last year or so I was the same way. Always looking for the next fight. Unsubbed from all the political youtube channels, stopped reading the news sites. Stopped browsing A&N. A lot happier now. Got into building things, can appreciate video games for what they are rather than what someone thinks they represent. Turns out there's a ton of really talented people on youtube who make really good content that's apolitical.

From what I can tell you have a Man Hate thread down, this thread that hates that thread, and now a Woman Hate Thread and it really seems like a lot of energy spent on being retarded.
