For those of you on the anontier.nl homeserver, the admins have announced they will be shutting it down probably before the new year. No actual date has been set yet but it won't be an instant thing.

Have they said why? I'm thinking of starting my own homeserver, or at least joining a quiet one where I somewhat know the owners.

apologies for the double-post, cant edit the last one but anywho, here's an anontier.nl update, looks like it isn't going anywhere anymore. For anyone else who is on this homeserver and wants regular updates on the status of the server, you can find the meta channel at #chat:anontier.nl

Is this still up to date? I am not able to join the invites room either.

Once again, anontier.nl is planning on shutting down, this time by the end of the month. Even if they do go back on this decision again, i would still recommend finding a new homeserver as there has been a lot of uncertainty and instability lately, and one of the two admins stepped down last time they threatened to close down, move before you lose everything.

Yes and no, the room names and addresses are correct, but until matrix.kiwifarms.net itself is back up or someone broadcasts the channels on another homeserver you will not be able to join the rooms

I've had a lot of bad experiences with matrix spam attacks. Right now I'm doing a token registration system. That means you have to send me a message on any platform I use and I'll give you a token if you ask. It's like a human captcha system.

Actually here's an experiment, 30-use registration token:

This private information is unavailable to guests due to policies enforced by third-parties.
