Probably Cluster B, then. BPD’s are 75% more likely to identify as gay/bi than your average depressive. It’s common knowledge that BPD is often inherited from the parent (usually the mother) to the child through abuse, so wether it’s more likely that non-hetero sexualities emerge from abuse, BPD is a comorbidity with homosexuality, or BPD’s latch onto LGBT sexualities because they think they’ll receive more attention is unclear. It’s a really interesting connection though, because it explains some of the histrionic behaviors LGBT people exhibit when they’re not being “validated”. It could also explain their high rates of alcohol and drug abuse.

This is sadly out of my area of expertise and insight, because, well, wasn't exactly too close to many lesbians or have been made aware of their inner workings. Is it the MEN that are giving them sexual gratification? Or is it the IDEA of two men being together, one of which arguably lowering themselves to a role one would see a woman in?

There's such a massive can of worms to open when it comes to kink and the inner workings of sexuality, I can only spitball and guess that part of it might have to do with seeing men in a humiliating position or some level of voyeurism for people they see below them, or who are alien to them. Maybe a sort of trick of the mind to convince them they're better than those they're watching because they aren't engaging in that behavior?

It's complicated. Yaoi or Boys Love is specifically fictional gay men, written by women for women. I have never seen a lesbian gush over the real filmed stuff. If you only like fictional men who are perfect and romantic with their lovers do you really like men?
