I checked the search bar and couldn't find a topic like this, so here we go. I wanna know what games you guys loved way back when, especially games that aren't being made anymore, games that you feel deserved sequels but never got any or series that simply didn't last long enough. Feels are welcome.

For me it's Ecco the Dolphin. These games were super imaginative and at times punishingly difficult. I loved the games back in the 90s and the Dreamcast/PS2 sequel, Defender of the Future, did not disappoint. Sadly it seems like the series died with the Dreamcast. *sigh*

The King's Field series. While The Ancient City may be the only one that held my interest compared to the other previous entries, I still loved going through a monster infested island/land in first person, armed with whatever the game had you start off with. Sure the game did start you off rather slow but once you got the hang of it along with some good equipment, the game became much more interesting. It is too bad From Software no longer works on the series since they had the Soul series succeed it (People do say Demon's Souls is a spiritual successor to King's Field in a way).

Isn't really that old but I miss the No More Heroes series. If there's anything Suda 51 knows how to do, it's making really insane games and settings. I just loved the idea of looking into the boring and pathetic life of a professional assassin who's only in this business to get laid. The boss fights with the ranked assassins were definitely the best part of the game. Not only were the fights themselves fun, but the assassins had so much personality and were really cool characters (my personal favorite being Dr. Peace).

I highly doubt the series will ever come back, No More Heroes 2 was the only sequel Suda 51 and GHM ever did and will likely ever do again. There were rumors of a spin-off game starring Shinobu, but I doubt it'll come true

Banjo and Kazooie. The good kind of Banjo and Kazooie. The HD remixes are awesome, but I would so love to see a completely new world on a completely new engine tailored with the same care and dedication as the ones in Banjo and Kazooie/Banjo Tooie. Worlds with just as many original ideas, just as much humor and most of all: not a fucking driving game.

Secret of Evermore. It was just so damn whimsical. I still load it up every few years and go though it again.

I had a PSP and I used to play SOCOM US Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 2 a lot on it. It was one of the best online experiences I've ever had on my PSP.

For me, I'd say Waxworks, Comix Zone, and Phantasy Star (before it became an MMO and later an action-RPG). Waxworks especially because of the atmosphere of the whole thing (that Graveyard stage especially) and you HAD to keep your eyes open, lest you hit a trap or something. I'd also played the first of the Horrorsoft Elvira games, but the one thing that annoyed me about that one was the music, it just kind of... droned on.

How many people are going to throw things at me if I say Battletoads? Because stupid memes be damned, I want some more Battletoads.

I miss playing the Banjo Kazooie games myself. I don't own a N64 OR a 360 anymore, so the only way for me to play those games now is via emulation. And as of now, I don't really have a good computer to do that.

I COULD buy an N64 or another 360 just to play those games again, but I don't think it's worth the cost.

Wing Commander and the old Sierra adventure games were my Sonic and Pokemon growing up. But after Wing Commander II and Kings Quest V I needed a new computer every time a new game in the series' came out. So I missed WC IV entirely and could barely run WC: Prophecy and stopped the Adventure games after Space Quest and Kings Quest VI. Generally speaking I miss playing games period. I just can't get into it any more.

I miss AD&D.

No fucking numbers, feats, prestige shit. Just the orignal that expanded a whole world for me to fuck around in.

Kids these days, they don't know what they're missing!

I was a Playstation kid growing up so I missed out on some great games like Banjo Kazooie. We did have an N64, it was mostly just used for multiplayer and co-op games. There is another game by Rareware that I played the hell out of though and that's Diddy Kong Racing. I liked it more than Mario Kart, so much so that until recently I didn't realize all the great memories I had of playing Mario Kart were actually Diddy Kong. Sad there were never any sequels.

They were working on a sequel, Donkey Kong racing. It looked fucking amazing, but they cancelled it.

And yeah, Diddy Kong Racing was fucking amazing.

Being an Odyssey2/Atari/ColecoVision/Intellivision kid myself, I've been through it all, at least up to the PS1 era, after that I simply stopped caring. I suppose I miss these places more than I do video games. Today's brats can suck it!

Right off the bat, Tombi. For the playstation, you play as a pink haired hero who uses a blackjack and jumps on evil pigs who stole his grandad's 100 year old bracelet.
