Old Internet Videos/Content - YouTube videos and websites that were good back in the day

Anyone remember Acts of Gord?

Late 90s/early 2000s site detailing the life of a Canadian used game shop owner and the idiot customers he dealt with. Obviously a lot of the stories are embellished, Gord himself just comes across like the leaf version of Comic Book Guy, but teenage me found the stories hilarious. Site hasn’t changed a bit and still has that early 2000s aesthetic.

Pretty good thread, it should be getting a whole lotta more attention and posts.

In my spare time, I love fixating with the oddball aspects of the cyberspace that have a maladroit, grungy, home-made sort of appeal. things like ancient youtube videos- uploaded in all their mushy 3GP codec glory. the forums of ye olde days, with their Photobucket watermarks and the so called link-rot. stuff that is almost guaranteed to fall through the cracks if not archived or even talked about. Long live the internet crust.

selection of pages in no particular order: https://www.yyyyyyy.info is a pretty simple site in structure, yet also one of my favorites. some imagery on here really hits that "crust" that i like

i wonder if any of yall have stumbled upon https://superbad.com/ at some point. a paraphernalia of spontaneously linked webpages filled with bizarre gifs and sprinkled HTML attributes all over. and the index page is completely dependent on what day it is

It's interesting all the pointless junk that's on YouTube when you type stuff like "mov 0572" or "img 588" for example. funnily enough there are a few sites dedicated to showing you low-view youtube videos with those titles, such as this one

Cool Site of The Day used to be a thing. I'm sure it works fine on wayback archive but would be nice if the main site was still around alongside it's own archives.

Bikdiponabus is a youtube channel thats been active since 2007 and has been virtually unchanged since then. He's nerdy kind of autistic guy who uploads pokemon and mario 64 romhacks giving dry commentary with a low quality mic for only a couple hundred views a piece. What I love about it is he's clearly doing it as a hobby and doesn't seem to care for reaching a wider audience or anything like that, he's just fucking around playing romhacks with minimal editing. He can also be quite funny at times. It's a very chill and cozy channel that throws back to the "Broadcast Yourself" era of youtube, even his new videos have that nostalgic feeling to them, they wouldnt be out of place back in 2007.

Perhaps his most popular series was his playthrough of a Kaizo Mario 64 ROMhack.

Dating a tranny, sometimes does videos with him lmao.

(shame too because the guy is very chill)

Old collegehumor videos were a staple of my friends and I’s injokes:

And this was the first internet meme I remember seeing (I didn’t really have access to the internet until I was around 10):

Yuge yuge dump of old internet content incoming:
I'd imagine a select few are already fairly familiar with this channel but i encourage you all to browse through the catalog of fruitful videos that encompass it

This piece is from 2002 and seems like it was incredibly keenly aware of the crust at the time of the crust.

Among my favorite videos which also counts as crust.

Here's a playlist of some polish crust

The channel itself also contains a big amount of reuploaded crust (mostly in older videos)

a while ago on an ATHF themed crust playlist, i found this video in there named "The Clinton and Canton Movie Part 1895 (2019)"

I checked the actual channel that this video is from, and to my astonishment, there are legitimately over 5,000 parts of this movie, ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes... it is legitimately a concerning amount of clintons and cantons...most of which are incoherent screaming and someone making just an absolute ruckus in the house

here's both playlists
p1 - p2

(my favorite parts are 92, 1050, 1099, 1508, 1895, and 2043)

what's not to like about the "3d simpsons" era of youtube?

found this while searching "screamer before:2006" scary shit yo

back in the very early days of utube, my mind was blown away from the weirdness of this channel, called 2056

Bikdip and the tranny split and went their separate paths a long while back. The tranny itself wasn't that cringe or bad to listen to, but whatevs. Bikdip is still doing stuff to this day, and his channel is absolutely worth a watch.

Friend of mine has this cd that has to be the pinnacle of internet crust. It came from someone's cd collection that he bought and even though we don't really listen to it that much, I love the design so much. CDR makes for it's own worthwhile content.

finaly.. 20st century fox. new loggo REVEAL!!

Despite the title, this is actually not James Rolfe........that will be instantly clear.

no thread on old internet videos & stuff is complete without a mention of quebecgamers

Here's somethin' REEEEEAAALLLL crusty from the early days of the EarthBound fandom I watched back in 2010

here's how to make your windows xp cool with epic theme

here's windows xp masterbating

The quality is low even for its time, but that makes it even better.

I remember Domorato using this source in one of their YTPs

this here's pure internet crust

this one is one of my faves

too lazy to find the original, but i swear by this classic (loud noises warning)

good old sony ericsson camera quality

i don't know what this video is about - it seems to be some sort of protest video. the thing that caught me off guard is the usage of the theme to the Universal Pictures logo

Apple LiveType

Hi My Name Is CHARLES

some more oldies with no particular order or description
