2014 was an alright year for Roblox, but by that point it had been gradually getting worse.
I consider 2012 to be the last good year, before things changed for the worst (which was a long fucking time ago in internet years).
My kid-self wouldn't even be able recognize the game as it is today for shit.
I have zero nostalgia for 2011, I remember when people were saying that 2009 was the worst year for roblox on the roblox forums and when I was playing in 2011 I was literally thinking there is no way that roblox could become a worse platform. But after seeing that you can make a full fledged antro fur suits for your character. I was definitely dead wrong
I swooped in around 2008 and wished I'd gotten in earlier. ROBLOX was absolute gold back then but it was definitely in constant rocky decline.
The developers would add new features with one hand and fumble about for your wallet with the other.
2013 was definitely when things started to go pear-shaped although I consider 2015 to be the true last good year.
It wasn't all bad after 2015 with great games like Purple Skittles, Traitor Town and some long dead TF2 X CoD clone that I can't remember the title of (It wass loadout based weapons like a nailgun and a tommygun and you could pick between grenades, claymore mines or health items. It had a map set overlooking a big canyon with a train running through it and another set in a resort with a pool) but the gameplay was decidedly unlike Roblox. Super Bomb Survival was a notable exception to this gameplay trend.
Also, 2016's april fools was genius. The official youtube channel gave glowing reviews to a bunch of fake spam obbies.
E: Does anyone remember that absolutely fucking dreadful 2014 egg hunt? 2013 had to patch in a few mid-hunt but 2014's was absolutely broken on release and wasn't that good anyway.

That year, they released the Online Social Hangout trailer, which I remember seeing on the front page in 2011. It was and still is fucking awesome.

I still love that trailer. It was the best one Roblox ever made.
I also miss this glitch on Roblox that seemed to happen from 2008 - 2014. If you have a default head and default face on your character, the mesh of the head sometimes expands outwards a little creating this weird face, it can be fixed by going into first person. But I still remember it but pictures of it are extremely rare to come by.
