I like how this one unambiguously starts in a strip club that somehow somehow transports you to evil hospital land.

I stopped playing this game regularly over a decade ago so I don't know how much of this is still around but here's a few things I can remember:

• When there was no way to know who was using the delete tool and since it had infinite range you could sit in the corner of a map and make people lose their shit with it.
• The viagra ads all over the site in 2008, since adblockers didn't exist you were stuck with it unless you paid for Builder's Club. Speaking of which, the constant shilling of that and the two other ones that came later was so annoying, it was like a gacha game with how much they pushed it.
• VIP T-Shirts that either gave you commands or let you through doors that kill you otherwise.
• Virus scripts you'd get from recklessly using the model catalog, namely Infected and Anti-Lag. Infected would rename everything, Anti-Lag would sit in the background for a while then cover the screen with offensive messages, kind of like when YouTube used to let you do public annotations.
• That fucking hammer.

I regret never finishing the collectathon in builderman's hotel, I tried to go back years ago to finish it but they'd completely broken the text system by then.

Game went to shit when they stopped using round studs.
I've been told that people will pay a hefty fine on the black market for old rare hats and faces. If what I've been told is true then some things can fetch like a thousand USD. Check your old stuff if you aren't banned.

I have no clue how to cash out on any of this because i refuse to deal with baby zoomer memelords, though.

This is what passed for horror around the 2012 mark yeah, moreso then the game itself it's the audio that makes me feel nostalgic (though the game itself was a fairly popular one back in the day).
Wish we could still hear those crunchy footsteps and weird jumping noises, same with the brick collision noise and the trip noise.

Virus scripts you'd get from recklessly using the model catalog, namely Infected and Anti-Lag. Infected would rename everything, Anti-Lag would sit in the background for a while then cover the screen with offensive messages, kind of like when YouTube used to let you do public annotations.

I wasn't aware of these effects though don't doubt their existence, the real meat and potatoes was the infected that'd lag your shit to death while the game ran. Of course injected with the 1x1x1 myth, random shit being added to models to be spooky while it happened. From my understanding this was still a problem up into the 2020s. Maaaybe they've fixed it by now but I doubt it. The depths of Roblox's incompetence is infinite.

Christ, thinking about Off Topic takes me back, used to post there a ton when I was younger. That place was basically 4chan for kids - not surprising that quite a few kiwis on the community watch thread admitted to being former OT users.

OT was wild man. Good shit. No surprise there that a ton of Kiwis used to go onto there. I only really got into it somewhere around the last 1-2 of its life. The raids were (Dominusrex I believe was a common one) annoying and showed how little effort ROBLOX really put into the forums when the mods were asleep as otherwise you'd get (I believe he was called) OldBaronMondo banning people. Say, from ATR which was just a joke to everyone that makes Twitter looks like the farms. Three things that I do find funny from OT is that Avecys kept on baiting people; this one really autisitc thing called Boostmoji which was basically ironically acting like AndrewTate back in like 2016 and this time I socked on it saying that I was someone else and said that I loved communism (they were Estonian you see and got really worked up about it). This happened to be on their birthday and made them tell me that I made them want to commit suicide because of it. - It's almost like I was born to be a Kiwi.

Anyone wanna throw a Fadious style OT party but on Kiwi?

We all ended up getting together and taking a photo shot, for which I took a screenshot of (I unfortunately don't have it anymore). I may have never particpated in the forums, but I knew the significance of it's closure and what it meant to old players like me.

The forum shutdown and 2017 as a whole really represented the true end of Roblox, even though it had already begun going downhill prior to that. It's been a slow decaying corpse since then.

I was checking out some modern Roblox horror game vids and one stuck out to me.
I think that it's ALMOST brilliant but I feel it ends before it gets interesting.

The current ending is cool but I feel that it would work better as an optional ending in a bigger game. I was expecting for strange shit to start appearing in and around the house like a cellar and expansion of stuff like the chat program and the shop.

The bit where it's suddenly at night and in first person without missing a beat is probably the best moment in the game. You slowly checking all the closets without explicit instructions is also the best moment.

That to be one of the most relatable things I've seen in a game. Period.

Roblox's forums was such a fun place to shitpost no doubt. Trolling (old fashioned way) on there was such massive fun until a few months before its closure. Now Roblox is a nightmare that has garnered such a reputation for scamming and grooming children. I hate how such a childhood game of mine has turned to this. Old roblox has such a Nostalgia aesthetic that really stood out from the others.

Ngl I spent most of my time building models and using CSG to try and make games. I loved the games, but most of all, I loved the aesthetic builds people made. Shiguto Neon market is my favorite of all time. I may or may not still build in CSG for old time's sake.

Also, has anyone ever played Veszteseg? I loved that fucking game even if it was hard as balls and mostly dependent on luck. I think it's probably one of the most interesting gaming experiences I've ever had.

Survive the Disasters was the shit. I remember between Miniclip, Y8 Games and Cool Math we would sometimes play Roblox in school during our designated Tech class. All of 12 of us who were playing screaming at each other across the room at the crazy shit going on. There will never be a moment like that ever again.

Ever since I got scammed on Roblox late last year. I refused to do anything with Roblox other than a select few Nostalgia games on a nothing to lose account. Roblox is a very risky game to play but the other engines are even more buggy than Roblox itself. Anyways. Super Nostalgia Zone and Retroblox are some of the best ways to relive Old Roblox.

I also miss this glitch on Roblox that seemed to happen from 2008 - 2014. If you have a default head and default face on your character, the mesh of the head sometimes expands outwards a little creating this weird face, it can be fixed by going into first person. But I still remember it but pictures of it are extremely rare to come by.

However, we talked a bit more (in regards to game development stuff), and he kept mentioning his penguin game and the feet tickling machine.

Kek. Did he ever make a version of the machine in Roblox? It would be a little blocky...

I remember being 9 years old and thinking "Man, I bet you could make sex in Roblox." but my only idea was a dildo item that made the death sound.

Also, that reminds me. I remember some Roblox Bloopers channel also having videos of them making forum and gamemaker sprites in what looked like mspaint or graphicsgale. Good times.
