There used to be this site that was called channel 101. It allowed to audience to vote on shows. If a show got less than 50% approval, the show was cancelled. Otherwise a new episode was demanded. Here are two that I remember.
Twigger's holiday.

Water and power.

I still think water and power is hilarious.

Edit: Wait this kinda looks bad. Let's see if I can find a better mirror somewhere.

This was the first "youtube show" I'm aware of.
Something that had proper writing, narratives, worldbuilding, themes etc.
Sure, the production value isn't great but this was before there were even ads on Youtube, they did this just for the lulz.

It's called Defenders of Stan.
The idea is that everyone on Earth became a superhero except 1 guy so now, "humanity" is just this dude named Stan who incidentally is the brother of the strongest and most popular hero.

Lego Counterstrike was a banger

I was also a big fan of misheard lyrics videos

I was already like.... 20 or more when Youtube launched, and honestly most of what I watched was predictable stuff like AVGN. I got into it more in 2012 when I got faster internet. Before then I was more into text-based websites.

I will never forget I'm-a firin' mah lazar! tho

Which I actually first discovered because of a Cat in the Hat YTP

(Parts one and two are no longer on youtube and I've been unable to find them anywhere, sadly)
