Latest pick up, haven't been buying kicks for a while, haven't seen anything I've liked.
These are Air Jordan 1 Rebellionaire. There's some boring story behind it but I liked these because they look very similar to the original Shadow colourway. They aren't patent leather either which is good, it looks like it but I wouldn't get them if they were.

Dearest shoe spergs, be there some kind of shoe that is like a secret moon boot? I wish to have a literal spring in my step, the kind of spring that would be cheating were I to use them in sport.
Prithee tell me, does such a thing exist?

I only know of those sneakers with thick soles, sorry.
Source: Used to sell men's shoes on eBay, even large size 13 heels once LMAO

Adidas Boost, Under Armour HOVR, Nike React, and Puma Nitro are a good start. Look for running shoes that have a carbon fibre plate in them, they are literally springboards!

Oooo Nike Zoom is really springy too, it works like a trampoline encased in gas.

Nike have done a collab with Sanrio.
This is the Nike Air Presto x Hello Kitty. The smaller shoes would look cute on little kids, but these are even too much for me and I wear some fugly trainers lol Its basically a full size run from toddlers to adult men. They have some matching track suits as well that probably have a hidden pocket to hide what little pride you had left as a grown man wearing hello kitty.

I’m probably gonna get wolverines for work shoes but let me post some shoes that activate my enjoyment autism.

Based off the Bubblegum, Big League Chew.

Fuck I looked at the pack, those are clean as! They resell for a fair bit too! Take good care of them! I've never owned fuel cell shoes before, how is the foam? Its pretty soft and squishy isn't it? If its what I'm thinking of, its apparently the same as that Nike Zoom-X shit, which is crazy like walking in fluffy clouds!

I mean this absolutely non-judgementally, but can someone explain the shoe thing, both for men and women?
I have 5 pairs. One for running that is essentially an exact fit to my foot, one for hiking and generally adverse conditions (lowas can take a real beating and have a great resoling service) and one for business (just inconspicuous black leather shoes). I also have some weightlifting shoes and some for soccer/field sports with removable spikes somewhere. Used to have dancing shoes as well back in the day.
My female significant other is similar:
Running shoes, army boots for adverse conditions and a pair of black heels for outings. I think that's pretty much it, though she used to have another pair of heels that were lighter.

When a shoe is damaged or worn down and I can't resole or repair, I understand that it needs replacing.

I get different shoes for different purposes.

I don't get everything else. Please help my stupid ass figure it out :(

I envy your minimalism.

I have 25 pairs. I think that's quite a lot, but I have a colleague who has over 300, so I guess it's not as bad as it could be. Combo of living in a climate that has four distinct seasons, needing formal shoes for work (so brogues, ballet flats, knee boots to go with various outfits), doing a couple of activities that require specialist footwear, and just plain aesthetics and enjoying variety. I love Novesta Starmasters at the moment and have 2 in different colours, just to mix it up a bit, and I'm actually considering getting another pair because I could have yellow ones for summer. Garden crocs. Flip flops. Birkenstocks (again, I couldn't choose between 2 colours...) Fleece slippers for winter and cotton ones for summer. It adds up.

Or, my patrons get bored of seeing me squishing fruit in the same pair of heels...

Lol a lot of it for me is buying shoes I couldn't afford as a teen in the 90s. A lot of it is nostalgia. I have friends that are serious collectors though, the majority of their shoes they won't wear, and their collections are worth a small fortune. I've slowed down these days myself, I only have one pair of feet, and I have basically the ones I always wanted.

I have these lace wedding shoes that I wore at my wedding reception for dancing back when I got married, but because the reception was outside due to covid restrictions and there was a bit of rain during cocktail hour which made the ground a little muddy, they are a bit dirty. They are these flats made out of a lace that keeps its shape, but I am not sure how to wash them without damaging them since I would like to wear them again sometime. My silver heels that I wore for the ceremony and photos that I got at BHLDN are still really good for special occasions.

They look sort of like this

For me (a woman), sneakers go with everything I wear on most days (jeans and a blouse). So I buy a lot of designer sneakers because it's not expected that your sneakers have to coordinate with your clothes. I wear boots in the winter or sandals in the summer if I want to coordinate with something. But most of my collection is sneakers (designer and sportswear brands).

I like the joy of having a lot of sneakers, I guess?

All of my footwear has been co-opted by various genres of fuckwits. I don't care. After 30+ years I'm not changing my footwear just cause some fuckwits decided they're cool.
Australia.Thongs are a must. Double plugged of course to prevent blowouts but there is NO valid reason to go beyond the simple white & black.

Skateboarding since 1982. Have worn black Old Stools ever since.
Recently had to resupply a fresh pair. I made the mistake of going nearby to a "lifestyle store" instead of mail-order. The fucking shit that came out of this cockgobbling sales "assistant" was unbelievable. Some girl told me they're not "trending" right now ...

Anyone know any good European brands that have really wide toes? When I look online all I see is American brands. I’m aware of duckfeet, but I’d like something a bit prettier. They don’t have to be wide all over, I have narrow heels, just something that accommodates us poor hobbit-hooves ladies. I used to be able to find things in the uk but recently I can’t. And people say stuff like ‘Ecco are wide! And I have to laugh hollowly because no, they do not have wide toes. Neither do Clark’s. Fellow duck footed ladies, what do you wear? Bonus points for removable insoles.

Got a new pair of cut-out booties, probably my favorite footwear trend of recent years. A little edgy but still elegant, go well with pants and skirts alike, the extra ventilation makes them super comfortable especially without socks and makes them good for summer when I want to go for something other than sandals.
I really like this pair. The low heel is comfy (I hate high heels) and the look really goes well with everything, be it casual or more formal.

Those are year-round shoes for me. You have no idea how much I love the concept of cut-out boots. It's the best parts of open and closed shoes combined. I almost, almost like them more than flats, but flats win out narrowly just for their comfort and versatility.

I saw these eye-wateringly expensive cowboy boots with skeletons taking a selfie on them and I think they’re pretty rad:
