I saw these eye-wateringly expensive cowboy boots with skeletons taking a selfie on them and I think they’re pretty rad:

Old Gringo makes some nice boots.

Husband dropped some stupid cash on these. I don't wear cowboy boots but these are the exception. Hippie trash meets Santa Muerte and I am motherfucking HERE for it.

Have to vent here.

Having big feet as a woman sucks ass. Size 11, although I can go 10.5 with some shoe types.
While it's nice to take advantage of sales, because size 11s usually stay on the shelves longer... it's a pain in the ass because literally nothing looks good on big feet. Thankfully the rest of my body is small/average, legs and ankles are a nice shape, although I'm fucking short on top of it, like 5'3". If I mention my odd Sasquatch issue, people claim they don't notice it at all. Who knows, maybe I'm good at hiding it.

I tend towards quality over quantity. Since my feet don't look "cute" in anything, I say "fuck it" and buy stuff that feels comfortable and lasts. My favorite brands are those that are designed with walkers or runners in mind. I love my Brooks sneakers, Reef sandals, Dr Martens. Naot, a brand that is based in Israel, seems really great. Waldlaufers, from Germany, are great. Those expensive as fuck shoes they sell in specialty orthopedic stores are often really great. Dr Martens, at least the boot designs that lean towards unisex, are generally comfortable, long lasting, and they are great on slippery surfaces.

It seems that the brands marketed to Americans here in the US are usually crappy, cheap, and they fall apart quickly. I guess they know we tend to throw them out quickly due to fashion changes and/or that we barely walk places, so they don't require as much sturdy construction. In my experience, it's better to drop cash on brands that are NOT considered "American-fashion" brands. I suppose the exception includes cowboy boots (they're usually well made), and some athletic brands that focus on functional sneakers for running.

That being said, it's probably in everyone's best interest to buy more shoes that are orthopedically correct and are also the right size. Those of us who grew up with old-school mothers have been browbeaten into thinking "big feet on women is horrific!" So, we were pushed into shoe sizes that were way too small. This has terrible long term consequences, as many women who grow up like this wind up with malformed feet that require surgery to be fixed. This kind of crap snowballs-- , if you wind up gaining weight due to pregnancy or other issues, your feet WILL feel the consequences. Having mangled bunions and hammer toes to begin with will make the pain much more unbearable. Then, you can't walk as much, then you gain more weight, then your knees deteriorate... you get the picture. I also know quite a few women under 40 who've had to have surgery on their feet due to years of too-small footwear.

Thankfully my job doesn't require high fashion women's footwear. If it did, I'd be up shit's creek without a paddle.

What shoes you think Null would wear? He seems like someone who would wear Nike Sb dunks

Anyone know any good European brands that have really wide toes?

Have you tried the shoe-style Birkenstocks? I'm not sure how they are now, but I had a pair of low boots from 5-10 years ago that were pretty generous in the toe box even with winter socks. They were pretty dorky-looking... although one of their sneaker lines earlier this year looked shockingly normal. It sold out real quick on Zappos, haha.

Also second trying Mephisto, even more if you can find them on discount. I think they run along the same lines as Ecco, though, in terms of roominess.

If you can try them on at the store some Pikolinos are deceptively roomy, for all they look fashionably pointy--they actually start to narrow  after the toes! Or, at least, the two models I have do. Maybe it was a fluke? They do make your feet look massive, though, as consequence.

New Balance in sneakers might be the go, I know some of their higher end retros like the Made in USA/UK come in different widths. Way higher quality too.

Birkenstocks always have this weird ultra-matte color that I don't like. I see how it can work in the UK since a lot of days are overcast but in Florida it just tends to look odd.

NEED :heart-full::heart-full::heart-full::heart-full::heart-full:

My sister and her mates took me to the local shopping centre yesterday and I was extremely tempted by these bad boys. We were actually gonna go to the cinema to see the new Thor film but she cheaped out on the tickets by booking them at the small cinema in one of the shittier areas of town and the place was closed even though there was supposed to be a film on. There was an old guy who worked there hanging about outside the locked doors that was just as confused about the whole thing as we were. So we decided to go shopping instead.

I have a pair of the sandals and my next to smallest toe is too long even for those massively wide footbeds. I’ll see if I can find the shoe types.
Just nothing fits. I have a few pairs of Grünbein boots and the natur profil last works for me but I sorely lack summer shoes, smart shoes and waterproof winter boots. I have extremely Celtic feet.

Having big feet as a woman sucks ass. Size 11

You think that's bad?

Try being a bloke trying to buy boots for his girlfriend who has even size 9 Feet!

I'll admit, I never had a gf with size 11 feet (I bow down before you Amazon Goddess), but I did have a couple with size 9/10. I'm fairly tall and whilst I've had some shorter gf's, I've also dated girls from Holland and Austria. Not to mention Australia!

Anyway, the conversation usually goes something like this (trying to buy boots for your gf for a bday present from off the internet):

Hi, I just saw those boots you put up on your website, do you have a pair in 'Red' or 'Black' and in a size 10?

Silence.

This is the point the phone usually gets slammed down. I don't know fam, they must get a lot of sick fuck phone calls about this shit to be so touchy, but whatever.

For my girlfriend, she's from Nigeria, and has quite big feet!

click.

Now, if you do get past that awkward first phase of the conversation, without them calling the police, they then usually tend to be quite patronising and pitiful.

So did you want the matt leather finish or the really shiney patent ones, love?

Er, they're not for me, as I said, I'm not sure really, what have you got?

Well, you can have either, we've got them both, which ones do you prefer?

Er, I don't know, I'll ask my girlfriend.

Your ""Girlfriend""!

You get the picture.

Anyway, none of that beats the time I stumbled in to a tranny shop trying to buy boots for my girlfriend at the time. I wondered why they were all being so nice to me. Comforting me as soon as I walked through the door. The people/women here are very friendly, I thought to myself. Lol.

Then I saw that half the boots they had were in size 11/12 and the penny dropped. Very very slowly walked out of that shop sideways like Homer receding in to the bushes, looking furtively around like Prince Andrew shutting the door at the Epstein residence.

Fond memories.

I got a pair of D&G leather sneaker in white ~2 years ago, the only issue I've had with them since is that I can't wear them in my sleep.

Don't cheap out on shoes, high end brands are 100% worth saving up for

Got these the other day for half price. Saucony Shadow 6000 x Extra Butter "Rabbit Hole"
The blurb: "The design and color blocking references the White Rabbit character made famous by Lewis Carroll’s novel, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but conceptually focuses on the “down the rabbit hole,” which has since become a metaphor for exploring the subconscious and philosophies of the metaphysical."

They have a touch of inspiration from The Matrix, if you cut out the coloured panels on the heel it has matrix code underneath. Also has a little key chain that is a red/blue pill. Pretty comfy, makes a nice change from the 4s I've been wearing. These ones are TTS but apparently the 6000s run small so its better to go up half a size.

I've got two shoe reports today.

Birkenstock Bend Low sneaker - Very comfy, pretty good toe room. I got the suede/canvas combo and it's a great nicer-casual sneaker. The footbed has pretty good arch support and is firm without being hard. I think it runs one EU size small.

Pikolinos Viella heeled oxford - O.m.g. Just go buy it immediately if you like this style of shoe. It is SO CUTE. This makes me wish I still wore heels to work so I could wear them more. It is a nice throwback to the similar chunky style from the 90s while still feeling pretty sleek and modern (which does mean the toe is pretty long, which seems to be typical for this brand). Their leather always feels really high quality... I want to try their tall boots but the price tag is pretty dear. I need a replacement for my old Olu Kai tall boots, though!

This is the first time I've inserted an image, so I'm sorry if I fucked it up.

I'm a converse type of person so I've got a few pairs of those. But I've learned I prefer to drive with my shoes off so now I have those knock off crocs from Walmart I keep in my car so I can slip my shoes off and put them on. But my favorite pair of shoes I own are definitely these.

I like to buy myself heels and boots too but my mom wears the same size as me [12 in womens] and steals them. Kind of a waste of money but I want cute shoes too...

I like how they’re capeshit trainers but like, relatively classy capeshit trainers. Like they actually made an effort and didn’t just slap a jpeg of Star Lord on the side or something.

That said part of me does want to buy a pair of Lightning McQueen crocs:

Mostly because they’d go with this jacket which I own:

I really would like some crocs or crockoffs but my husband would probably chuck em in the trash. He's still so happy that I finally had to throw out my birks. Sometimes I just want some ugly errands shoes, ya know?

Just buy some and if he throws them away, throw away a pair of his shoes and see how he likes it.
